PS3 is more-or-less in line with 360's last year numbers, despite being ~$100 ( and £120) more expensive
When PS3 hit's $200, there will be some pretty big numbers!
Anyway, PS3 1 Million next weeks numbers - Will it happen?

I do I'm sorry all your friends haven't been interested in any of the great games since brawl, but that is probably because they refuse to even be remotely interested not because there are no good games. Now answer this question. Who the hell buys a X360 or PS3. I know 0 people personally (other than myself) who have either. |
There's been a few great titles since Brawl, they've missed out a on a few good Wii titles.
Buying in 2015: Captain toad: treasure tracker,
mario maker
new 3ds
yoshi woolly world
zelda U
majora's mask 3d

No its not that, they all got wiis at launch (same with me) and the software just hasn't been there. Of the ten people I know with wiis, who all got it in the first few months of release, maybe 5 bought brawl, and one bought NSMBwii. And its not like they switched to ps3 or xbox, they just don't play games anymore, or they play on PC. And they were all at various levels of gaming enjoyment, some are huge gamers, others were what we would call casuals. None of them like the wii however.
And as for your question, the wii is almost doing double the sales of those two combined, so I would expect to see an impact of some sort amongst all the people I know, even if it was small.

What's going on Norlead, kid keeping you up. Last year it did 1.2 million in the same week, so almost 400k more was sold this week than last year. By thrend, I see 2 million next week vs 1.7 million it did last year. I am not saying it's overtracked, it just sellling so damn much, my God. |
Nothing. Just discussing the possibility that this is "overtracked". It wasn't an attack at your or anyone, so I see no reason for the last comment. I said myself, that the numbers are higher than I expected, however, Walmart may have been capable of pushing a few extra 100k due to their week long deal. I wouldn't be surprised by no growth next week, but then again, maybe Mario was a huge world wide hardware booster and it will break 2m units. Heck, Wii sales in Japan are way higher than I expected this week, so it wouldn't be unreasonable to see the same in the rest of the world.
Wait...1.5mil. Ina week?! Crikey. The Wii is a monster. Almost seems surreal.

Its up 50 percent YoY, its outsold its main competition by 200k, it has a good chance of breaking a million with the release of FF13 next week. How is it doing bad again? |
Put it this way. If you take away the 70k+ sales the PS3 has had in Japan then these numbers are horrible really. The west clearly are not purchasing the PS3's.
Even with 70k from Japan the ps3 isnt even able to outsell the 360 of last year that sold sod all in Japan. So really the 360 western last year is greater then the PS3 WW this year. Without Japan the PS3 wouldnt have even passed the 600k mark
Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!
Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

The "haven't played a game since Brawl" thing is a really just people not even trying to look for a good game. This could be because they lost interest or got interested in another system (or PC) or hobby. I really don't care, but there are plenty of games that are being released that gain the interest of other people.
I'm just saying, personal experience with who owns/plays certain consoles does not in any way reflect reality.
There is no point discussing over/under tracking now. Once the shipment data arrives all should be clear.
Right now looks like HW in Dec 09 will be less than 08 mainly because of the PS2/PSP.

And without America the xbox would be at 15 million. A sales a sale regardless of where it comes from. Plus without that 70k PS3 would still be outselling xbox by 100k, not bad considering the price difference.
