Forums - Sales Discussion - Famitsu sales leak for week ending Dec 13 (from GAF)

Found this on the media create thread on GAF. Famitsu leaked LTDs for Wii, PS3 and NSMBWii which gives us the following numbers for the week ending 13.12.2009. If this all turns out false, I apologize...

PS3 - 76,000
WII - 142,000

NSMBWii - 465,000
Great hold for Mario, great jump for Wii HW and decent holiday boost for PS3. All good and can't wait for FFXIII week.

Elaine: I will never understand people

Somehow I don't think so... You should wait until FFXIII week at the very least.

I guess this is the thread to be in.

Listen

New Super Mario Bros. Wii's drop-off was less sharp than the DS game's.

That is kind of terrifying, you guys

the legs from first day to first week were a bit better too. Yeah, it's gonna have some amazing legs. That doesn't mean it'll sell over 5 million like NSMB DS though. I'd say 3 million is starting to look likely though.

True but we are in the holdiay boost period which might have helped (and I am assuming the DS version wasn't released at a similar period of course).

I am more suprised by Wii HW which continued to rise despite the hefty boost it received the week before. Next week is really hard to call between PS3 and Wii; with the huge FFXIII boost the PS3 will get (plus the holiday boost)  and the continued Mario and holiday boost the Wii will get.

I still think PS3 will "win" next week (around 200k) but Wii will be much closer that I initially would have predicted (I'm going with 190k as last year holiday boost was around 50% but I don't see such a high bost this year). Anyway, what do I know, I just can't wait to see!

Damn. I didn't think the game could hold so well... I was expecting 400k at the most (before preview). On FFXIII launch week, NSMB Wii will be at 1.6 ~1.7mil. (add fail)

I'm not sure what Famitsu's numbers were at, but VGC had the Wii at 92k last year. It peaked at 148k (Christmas week), so if it continues like this, it should make 200k without too much trouble. I guess it shouldn't be a surprise, with a price cut and 2D Mario.

Anyway, I'm more interested in Tales of Graces! Need those numbers...

wii holiday sales (media create)

week 2007 2008 2009
40 20.704 25.330 35.392
41 20.575 22.877 30.741
42 24.932 26.024 29.965
43 27.502 24.292 25.917
44 37.617 23.123 28.888
45 34.546 24.726 31.810
46 36.230 26.787 26.764
47 54.362 35.298 32.844
48 74.764 49.848 46.673
49 115.057 56.702 106.555
50 170.558 91.641 142.000
51 232.907 131.054
52 152.209 134.958

Yeah it looks like wii should reach around 200k next week, maybe 180-190k if you believe that there is still a small temporary boost happening. This week is already higher than any week last year. NSMB wii isn't looking like the temporary boost at all.
