Activision Blizzard’s ‘Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’ (-11%) battles on to reign supreme with its 5th week at No1, despite a drop of 11% in sales. Can it hold on for a sixth week to claim Christmas No1, to echo the original Modern Warfare two years ago?



Nintendo’s ‘Wii Sports Resort’ (+17%) enjoys a Christmas resurgence moving up to No2, followed by ‘Assassin’s Creed II’ clinging on to No3 (-3%). Nintendo’s ‘Wii Fit Plus’ (+11%) also steps up the chart to No4, whilst ‘FIFA 10’ (-15%) is relegated three places to No5. Mario finds himself at No6 and No7 with Nintendo’s ‘New Super Mario Bros. Wii’ (-5%) ahead of Sega’s ‘Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games’ (+15%). Ubisoft’s ‘Just Dance’ (+274%) pulls off an amazing move to go from No30 to No8 and Microsoft’s ‘Forza Motorsport 3’ (+15%) continues to cruise at No9. Rounding off the Top Ten is another Mario title, ‘Mario Kart Wii’ at No10 (+18%).

Link returns to the DS with Nintendo’s ‘The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks’ making its debut at No12 and Ubisoft’s ‘James Cameron’s Avatar: The Game’ (+108%) enters the chart at No29 as the release of the highly anticipated film draws near.

With a sales chart like that I can't understand how PS3 HW has been ahead of 360 in the UK. Perhaps this week 360 will be ahead.

Then again the 360 install base is twice as big, so most multi plat games should better on the 360 for some time to come (if PS3 ever closes the gap substantially).

Forza 3 is soing really well in UK (compared to US if we go by its absence in the NPD statement). I really love this game and it desreves to sell to the sim racing fans.

I like how NSMB DS popped into the top 40 again at 28 probably on the tales of the Wii version.

Suprisingly, but i'm in Belgium, I have noticed some shortages of NSMBWii. Though seeing numbers, it's not really telling... But has anybody seen this anywhere?

It blows my mind to see Just Dance in the top 10 in the individual all formats chart. It really goes to show just how different the Wii user base is from its 360 and PS3 counterparts.

Quite expected chart knowing the install base of both HD consoles in the UK. XBOX 360 is doing real good there, too bad the rest of Europe doesn't follow the same trend. It's just that I like competition, and would not want to see PS3 go ahead of 360 just yet. It will one day, eventually.

F1 2009 hel up nicely, and Rabbids go home actually rose in the charts again! Thankfully the latter's performing well here

For this PS3 vs Xbox 360 thing:

There are 12 Xbox360 games in the top40
There are 6 PS3 games in the top40

Out of these 12 Xbox 360 games are 5 exclusive for the Xbox360 (best one: Forza Motorsport 3 @ no. 10)
Out of these 6 PS3 games is 1 exclusive for the PS3 (Uncharted 2 @ no. 29)

I can't see the PS3 outselling the Xbox 360 on the hardware site at all. I would really like to have some GFK data for this.

Well software sales usually track install base much more closely than weekly sales rates, so I don't see how these current software sales put the weekly hardware sales into question.
