Check the link, they're down by half since 2008, almost uniformly. This is not a seasonal thing.

My guess is the "update" the site took.

That's part of the reason i stopped going there, it was a ballache for my browser some of the time.

That's very interesting - but it suggests their reach has halved, rather than quartered, and it's actually on the upswing.

Yeah, I think that when he saw the graph he persepted it as if it had quartered and he decided to omit the upswing.

Good question, I don't know the answer to that. Speaking for myself, I come here as I find this site reports about stuff I like reading about. Sales success, and reports information that I find valuable or interesting in regards to the games I like. Of course, it is just my theory based on what I see: that most of the IGN fans going are Nintendo consumers; they used to be very numerous on that site, but now seem to be in the minority. I could be wrong and it may be that they are driving away Sony and Microsoft Consumers as well, and Nintendo consumers are just no longer very vocal; somehow I doubt that.
