Now that Uncharted 2 has been named GotY, what do you think it will do to it's sales?

Will they increase? plateau? or slide?

I personally think it will not make much of a difference to the games sales as a lot of gamers don't actually take an interest in these awards. Uncharted 2 sales will keep going at over 100,000 until january where they will drop.

So what do you think?

If it wins alot of them - i.e all the big online websites too, IGN, Gametrailers etc it'll help it. Might not be a significient spike but just keep the legs high after the holidays.

It will give it a small bump, i'd have thought.

All those people expecting MW2 to win, and Uncharted 2 sweeps it away. Could gain some small interest.

Also, GotY edition next year is basicly confirmed... Will be a nice bump

I don't think it'll affect them at all, to be honest. It's already gotten a glowing critical reception. I think anyone who listens to this kind of stuff has already bought it ... Or are planning to buy it. I know I will, when I eventually get a PS3, regardless of if it wins 10 GOTY awards or 0.

Seems overtracked on VGC.  NPD has ltd through November at just ~650k.  Then again, NPD also still has UC1 at just ~600k (not counting the bundle).

there's no way UC1 is still at 600K, it's just silly, UC1 is still selling quite regularly across all bestbuy stores, with new shipment coming every week

Well, they likely moved a good amount in bundles too (say ballpark ~100-300k) which NPD tracks separately.  The game only sold 118k it's first month though, and around ~300k after it's first holiday.

The MW2 hype monster may eat its sales like last month.
