Forums - Nintendo - I can live without the Zelda Overworld Theme Now

I've been really liking the theme for castle town in this one, myself.

Though i'm still rather disturbed by the "Frolic with the bunnies" ranch i just found.

The music gets better

And that place gets weirder

Guys, give Soriku a break. You're all acting like snobs!

And midi... Ugggh! I have no doubt it fits the "western" style of the game, but keep it for that game only please. TP had the best overworld theme ever, k thx (even though it's still midi...).

Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

I don't get your second paragraph at all

It definitely gets the blood flowing, that's for sure.

Man, who feels like going on an adventure right now?

Hmmm, I think you didn't get it because of either 1. I'm french and can't always explain my thoughts in english correctly or 2. I didn't explain what I meant by midi. When I'm saying midi, I'm talking about MIDI-formatted songs. For the handhelds, it usually sounds more cheap compared to the "real 3D" Zelda games. Nintendo's been using this file format for most of their in-game music since... I guess the SNES?

I don't want to be mean, but Zelda games aren't really recognized for being strong in the music department anyways (other than for the themes, Ganon and other boss battle themes). I guess that's why we don't really see a lot of Zelda music remixes around the web.

With all that said, it isn't the best .midi overworld theme I've heard in a Zelda game.

They've been using it since the NES, I believe.

As to the bolded: you might want to get to running

Haha, yeah. I personally really like the music in Zelda games, but I'm not sure people enjoy it as much as I do. I was mostly saying that because I can only find so few Zelda music remixes (it's a good conclusion, eh?).

I get this feeling that all Ive been trying to say doesn't make sense and everyone is probably misunderstanding me. I'm going to sleep!

No. Other than, you know, ZREO, and OCRemix having more Zelda remixes than Mega Man arrangements (quite a feat, I'd say), I don't think the number of online mixes is indicative of a franchise's musical quality or popularity.

And could you people stop yapping about midi? It's not indicative of musical quality! It's just another tool at the composers disposal, and games like Super Mario Galaxy make wonderful use of it. I suspect the kind of dynamic music than can only be created with midi will only become more poular as time goes on...

Soriku, you both shock and appall me.

On the note of the thread, well, I always want a bit of the main Zelda-theme to be in the game (which it almost always is), but it doesn't have to be overly prominent really. The Spirit Tracks-theme is absolutely fantastic and anyone who disagrees is a liar.
