yes.

There are lots of places to draw the line and many different feasible plans, such as specific seats for larger individuals, or, as some in the airline industry has suggested, charging people over a certain weight for two tickets, but refunding that money(all or partial) if the flight doesn't sell out.

And like any other medical condition that effects the providing of service(and isn't immediiately visible) , you can provide a doctor's note.

That's actually a very reasonable idea I like it

yes sometimes it can be a medical problem, but 90% of the time it is just their lifestyle and if they choose to be like that then yes they should pay

What annoys me is when you see fat people driving mini electric scooters that are meant to be used by disabled people. I mean, I know it's hard for obese people to move; But when these people have to use a scooter to get round then surely they must realise that it's a serious problem and it's not healthy. I think the thought that I couldn't walk around a few shops because of my weight or be able to sit in a single seat on an aeroplane would make me want to do something about immediately. I know that's easier said than done though.

Britain is officially the third most obese nation on the planet (with 23% of people classed as obese) and I seem to be noticing this more and more each day. It's a rather depressing thought that we are getting that way *sad face*.

What are the first two? I'd guess it the USA and Mexico.

USA have 30.6% obesity and Mexico have 24.2% obesity (Source).

Wait...  That's not right.

There are tons of fatter countries then us.  In Samoa for example.... like 80% of the population is obese.

We're both right Kasz, we're just using different definitions. Samoans are literally made out of muscle so by some weight to height methodologies for assessing obesity they would be considered obese, like rugby players are considered obese from a medical point of view because of the weight of their muscle, despite being low in fat. Some pacific island nations like Samoa, Fiji and Tonga naturally have very muscley natives, and this can be considered obese.

Are we... cause your using a nationmaster poll that only has 30 nations listed.   I just think it's more likely your polling is incomplete.

Take Nauru for example... the fatest nation in the world.

They used to be a bunch of slender poor fishermen until they found some really valuable resources in their land... as such they started getting paid a lot of money and imported a bunch of unhealthy food.

Absolutely they should pay more. I did ask to be moved to another seat when an 'obeaste' sat next to me. I could not stomach it on a long haul flight.

By coincidence all the ads on vgchartz at the moment are "1 rule to a flat stomach/Look what I did after 4 weeks etc.

Playing: Borderlands(great co-op,HUGE amount of content),Too Human(better late than never lol),Saints Row 3(Penetrator ftw),Minecraft 360,Harry Potter Lego.

Patiently waiting for:  Tomb Raider, Borderlands 2

Gah, I was on a flight once from Hong Kong to Vancouver, and there was this lady sitting next this really fat guy. She looked so uncomfortable, she had to lean way over to the other side to even begin to have any personal space on that flight.

So yes I think so. People say that we should be more considerate of obese people, but really obese people have to be more considerate of others too, it isn't a one-way street.

I feel like this thread is a sarcastic way of making fun of fat people

mM

Yes.

Anything over level 4 should pay.

Yes. On the way back from Hawaii I had a half seat to myself because some fat dude sat next to me. For seven hours.
