Oh really? Reference some of those reviews. The name of the game, the issue it was reviewed in, and the page it was on.

 

NP has gotten a lot better with their reviews of 3rd party games since 2005.

Gaming journalism? You guys actually think that exists? These guys are mostly hacks. I mean look at most IGN reviews, they are often littered with major errors which are usually never even fixed. If they can't write a 2 page review once a week I seriously doubt that their opinion is terribly valid.

As for SH:SM calling the flashlight mechanic is just sad. Frustratingly and shocking misinformed. Even the other mediocre reviews ALL hail this graphical touch. The controls took me about 2 min to master, and I'm always one to bitch about the imprecision of so many Wii games.

If you don't like the game fine. Hate it because it has no combat, or you don't like the story, or because it is a remake, or even because you think the lack of fear in the non nightmare stages hinders the fun. But don't hate a game for thinks that are just made up lies meant to shove mud on a particular console.

If you ask me in the last 5 years gaming reviews have gone from mildly usefull to utter fanboy/money grubbing trash.

Yeah I saw that review and went WTF IS THIS SHIT, more content, all the online stuff, amazing controls, and it gets the same score as the others???

I actually read that review, they said the Wii version would've gotten a 7 if it weren't for the extra content if I remember correctly.  Or they might've said it would've gotten a 7 if not for Wii Motion Plus.  One of the two.

Maybe you should read the thread and see that others here *gasp* actually considered that. They addressed the parts that made it clear it wasn't the case.



A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Did you even bother reading the review? They list reasons that conflict with pretty much every other review out there. And having beaten the game I'm gonna go with the crowd.The flashlight looks like an N64? Really? I mean come on. Thats like saying Nathan Drake is a drunken child molester and Uncharted 2 sucks because the shooting is broken and the graphics are lame. Sure it can be said, and some asshole might defend it, but it's still bullshit. The thing that is the most irritating about people like this guy is they know they are wrong and yet the do it just to make a douche baggy point about the Wii.

Like I said before there are lots of reasons to hate this game (though I enjoyed it). Heck a buddy of mine though it was boring as hell, and another couldn't get over the fact that it was too dark. Some people might even think the story isn't to their liking. Thats fine. But making shit up isn't.

I can't wait to see this come out on PSP and PS2 and see everybody flock to support this game. Face it the hardcore and their ilk have an unnatural hate for all things Nintendo. This is proven time and time again when people on this very board go out of their way to rip on the Wii.

Yeah I mean they try saying its the worst shadow effects they've ever seen... you understand that means worse than any other Wii game, any other PS2 game, GC, PS3, 360, N64, etc... its just pure rubbish and trying to stick up for this garbage is likely to get you called out.
