Forums - Sony - Would A UMD Drive Convince You To Buy A PSPgo?

Sony has already said that PSPGo is an alternative, not a substitute, for PSP-3000.

No I'd rather buy a PSP 3000. The small size of the GO makes it a big no for me. I still have DS Phat for a reason. Not to mention the GO's smaller screen and the fact that I could just be 16GB Memory stick for the 3000 to begin with.

the gos screen is barely noticable and has better quality picture. anyone whobrings up the screen size is nit picking. Congrats, you got 16gigs in you psp... why didnt you just buy something for your go to get 24 gigs? nitpicking again... funny thing is I guess a legit complaint like the price doest matter to you though.

The PSPgo is way better then the 3000. If you use it for what its supposed to be for. Portable gaming.

That doesnt mean using the PSP in your house only or 90% of the time. It kind defeats the purpose of it being portable apart from you can walk around the house with it.

I used to use mine in college breaks.
Now i use it

on the buses and in cars, Whenever i am traveling or out with mates i just take it just incase. Or when i take the kids out to the ark and stuff you know the usual.

I would never dream of having a bulky 3000 and all my games bulging out my bag. It just inst practical.

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

You know what would help most?

Pricecut by 50%

The terrible battery life prevents people frm being able to truly make the PSP a portable gaming device. On top of that the Go has a worse battery (it's a smaller system, doesn't have moving parts and it doesn't last as long as the 3000)

where did you get shorter battery life? I heard it was the same. Also, what do you expect? smaller system smaller battery... i guess psp 3000 wasnt a portable gaming system. or Gameboy. or game gear...

The PSP battery has always been terrible. The Gameboy's battery life was better than the PSP's.

Yes. if they dropped the price.
its too expensive for what it is, and i already have a PSP.

Knowing I had the choice of getting a UMD drive would greatly influence me to at least consider the PSP-Go if my 1000 ever breaks.

PSN: HobsonA

XBL: HobsonA

Actually I want to amend my earlier statement.

I'd buy it if it was $150 and I got vouchers to download all the games I already own for free. I'd still like it to be UMD-free.
