Super Analyst Michael Pachter, of Wedbush Morgan, has brought out his crystal ball once again to make some more of his (normally credible) predictions. With the NPDs several days away, Patcher decided to jump the gun with numbers of his own to give people an idea what to expect.
The more obvious note he made was of what games will to expect to top of the software chart. Modern Warfare 2, Assasin's Creed 2, Left For Dead 2, and New Super Mario Bros. Wii are all expected to outsell everything else, according to Patcher. Then come the pretty sketchy hardware sales predictions.
“We estimate sell-through of 1,050,000 Wii hardware units (down 49% from last year), 650,000 Xbox 360 (down 22% from last year), and 700,000 PS3 consoles (up 85% year over year),” said Pachter.
Sound realistic? The Wii has had many promotions to go along with it's $199 price cut (like the Wal*Mart $50 gift card), so it wouldn't be a surprise if it broke one million. The PS3 outselling the 360 sounds like a definite possibility as well.
We'll have the NPD sales numbers for November available to you guys when they release this Thursday.
