I truly believe Nomura has harmed final fantasy after making it so popular, also it isn't him alone, given this is going to be redemption of the franchise that has been lost for sometime. The proof is already shown to you, from him being quoted and from picture that shows it.

And I have already displayed my opinion on them

what matters here is lightnings personality & motivations throughout the game

from the material we have so far, they are nowhere near what clouds motivations or initial attitude were in the game

And how has the Franchise been "lost" for sometime, I wouldn't call the franchise being lost considering FF12 sold more than 99% of RPG's & was a critical mega hit.

Lot of franchises lose what is important to them and still are sucessful, Resident Evil, Grand Theft Auto and so on.

In final fantasy case, I believe they "lost" the focus on story and characters, as seen in FFX-2 and FFXII.

Also i never said Lightning Personality and motivations are the same as Cloud...till this day I have no fricken idea what Cloud's Motivations are besides that he was originally getting paid and some useless character died which he couldn't use phoenix down on.

2. No it is not.....it makes me more aware of what happens in the game straight away. The literature in the FF13 Prologue novel won't be in the game in that much depth (I don't think it will be anyway).

I just think it's odd for people to mix up personal expectations and feelings to what actually happens in reality. Hey, people may not like FFXII or any FF since FFVI, FFVII, FFIX, whatever, but to claim that the series is "lost"? Would all games be as "lost" as the Final Fantasy games, and we would have gaming paradise ;)

About clouds motivations, refer to page 2 or page 1 for that argument

Now onto the FF franchise:

Focus on characters & story.....I'm sorry but while FF12 had the weakest story since FF10-2 there was still focus on the characters & the story

You must also understand that the main head of the FF12 project left it mid way, there were many reasons for it turning out the way it did, thats the primary reason.

We cannot say that the franchise has been lost at all, & like it or not RE, GTA & so on have branched out, they are not lost

An example of a "lost" franchise is :

Crash Bandicoot, Tomb Raider

2. It's not spoiling to know stuff about the story? What would a spoiler be then? You get to a point where it looks like the game might end and you think to yourself "Nah, it's not gonna end now, I haven't gotten that last character yet", tell me stuff like that isn't spoiling.

And yes, I do for the most part avoid trailers / the best I can (though some people (like you) usually just put them in the thread title), and because of that Assassin's Creed 2 was one of the most pleasant suprises in gaming ever. I know from experience what trailers can do, it really killed KH2 for me, though that was a horrible game anyway.
