That´s too short for a SH game :(

Really? I remember beating SH 2 in less than that.

Too short? RE 1-3 and Silent Hill 1-2 were shorter.

its NOT shorter than SH2, i beat it the first time in a single sitting evening(without knowing what to do).
Silent hill is not about beating it once.It NEVER is about that.is about beating it again and again.So...yeah, the actual gameplay time is much much longer than you might think.

I heard that RE1 was like 5 hours if you knew exactly where to go and ran full speed the whole way.

Seeing as to how I didn't know that stuff, and was scared half to death (ceiling spiders Good Lord!!!) it took me a good action-packed 15 or 17 hours to beat it.

I don't know if SH's length would be extended in such a manner though.

The premise in this one is the same, you beat the game, then you change your profile see the changes on the enviroments, look for different endings.

Seems like a good review to me. Although I don't know about the score for lasting appeal...If you can play through it multiple times and have totally different experiences and endings, 6.5 seems on the low side.

I beat RE in less than 60 minutes running full speed. In fact, that's how you unlock some of the secrets (I think 3 hrs was the limit, though).

The old games got by because they had brain busting puzzles and tons of backtracking. They were pretty short, though. In my old age, I actually like shorter games. This one is a must by, as soon as I finish SH: Homecoming this weekend.

The short length is definitely a minus, but there is enough pluses it's still on my radar... If not a full price, will definitely used or when it drops in price... maybe sooner if I catch up on some of my existing games I haven't finished yet...

This was precisely what I was going to say.  Many games by their nature are not terribly replayable but if the game actually changes on repeated playthroughs then 6.5 does seem harsh.  Anyway, will wait for some other reviews, I've lost faith in IGN's reviews in the past year or so.
