Also I have to say, wow, so many bad business decisions in this thread....it like you guys want Take-two to die, and let EA and Activision fight for the remains, and yes making one bad decision can hurt a company, namely when that company isn't that good at finances.

Thanks, makes sense. I like the fact he blames Carmack for being too "technically minded", lol. Quite an interesting read as well.

A thousand times this! Didn't they start losing money the quarter after GTA4 was released? If ever there was a company that deserved to sink it was these guys. If you can't leverage the GTA series into a profitable business model then you lose.

Why would they want to get more money out of GTA4 to fund a less profitable GTA5? This makes absolutely no sense and yes, it is that illogical. Rockstar want money. They have no reason to cut their profits with GTA5. Only way GTA5 would be PS3-exclusive is if Sony poured truckloads of money over Rockstar. But guess what? Sony also want money. Therefore they have no reason to throw out that much cash for GTA5 since it will not give them profits in the long run.

No company wants to cut their profits, so by that logic, all third party games should be multiplatform, right?

...wait

Read again. GTA is a much bigger franchise than most others, therefore it requires a bigger budget, which means they need more profits.

Hmm, almost a 2:1 for 360 and yet the PS3 version only sold 1.5m less: Interesting. Yeah I'm with the people who believe this won't happen. The best Sony could hope for would be GTA for the next console generation. They let GTA slip away this generation and they know it. Unless Sony have thrown a ton of money their way this is extremely unlikely, but yes I do agree I read somewhere that R* has a 3-game deal with Sony.

 

Also people saying R* would lose money if this were to occur are only fooling themselves.
