Forums - Sony - Could Take-Two's mystery AAA game be GTA PS3 exclusive

i really dont care...i just want LA Noire exclusive...i think this is gonna be a better GTA...but if LA Noire goes multi i want a GTA exclusive...one of those 2 things please!

also this talk about money and bankrupt is totally bullshit...first of all Take 2 got enough money and one of them guys already said that their is a new game of a famous franchise is coming exclusive for PS3 and that its not always all about the money...he personally said that and

2nd of all are u trying to kidding me...a new full exclusive not timed exclusive GTA for PS3 will EASILY sell over 10 million and could go up to 15 mill...and i think really everybody knows that...GTA is the best selling title with GT for Sony period and maybe some of you will realise how big GTA exclusive will be after GT5 will sell bombshells!

also its not THAT unlogical...get the facts...we know their is a PS3 exclusive from Rockstar and the talk is not about Agent or La Noire...then we got this guy who also said a new exclusive from Sony from a famous/succesful franchise + it would make them money cause GTA exclusive for PS is always big + maybe MS also knew that and couldnt debate with Rockstar about that...i think the guys a rockstar really like the Sony guys and MS is only a uncle who gives u alot of money...so what is the typical MS move...hmm the next GTA only for PS3?shit we gotta make some more money out of GTA IV and here we are with exclusive GTA IV episodes for X360!

That would be awesome but very unlikely. Only an idiot would make GTA5 exclusive to the console that sold less copies of GTA4.

Why would they want to get more money out of GTA4 to fund a less profitable GTA5? This makes absolutely no sense and yes, it is that illogical. Rockstar want money. They have no reason to cut their profits with GTA5. Only way GTA5 would be PS3-exclusive is if Sony poured truckloads of money over Rockstar. But guess what? Sony also want money. Therefore they have no reason to throw out that much cash for GTA5 since it will not give them profits in the long run.

When Sony decided to let Take-Two release GTA 4 on 360,Take-Two agreed to make 3 exclusive PS3 AAA game in return.

Still waiting for a link where they talk about 3 exclusives and not just 1 like in the link you gave...

Maybe you should just edit your op and accept there is not 3 but 1.  =)

Zones : I still don't understand all the love for Blizzard, what was the last game they developed worth playing?

1. They can eliminate any costs of porting the game to the 360, plus they don't have to bite the bullet on the multi disc charge on 360 games.

THERE IS NO MULTIDISC CHARGE! There never was, and there likely never will be. This is the worst bit of misinformation I have ever seen. I routinely have to correct people on it sadly. If I have to I will once again dig up the relevant links, but anyone who has done this tired old song and dance with me will back me up.

Also, you ignore usebase and time on the market in your comparison. As such it is entirely irrelevant. The PS360 combined has less than half the market of the PS2. The game is also still selling, and might sell well into the next generation. Te entire analysis is based on an extremely faulty, and ill-thought premise. As such I won't waste time disecting it.

Could you dig up the links please? I was under the impression that MS charged after you went over 2 discs? At least that's what I got when reading a John Carmack interview about Rage on the consoles.

Guys, it was Team Bondi who were supposed to develop 3 PS3 exclusive titles, one of them being L.A. Noire.

http://scrawlfx.com/2009/06/team-bondi-working-on-up-to-3-playstation-3-titles

...and SCEA were supposed to be funding these projects. However, it went quiet, and then the rumor arised that Sony is no longer funding these projects. Sources say it was because the Team were unable to meet deadlines among other things. I don't think the game will ever release, tbh.

Now, in response to the OP, is a PS3 exclusive GTA5 possible? Well, unless RN and Take-Two are willing to sacrifice revenue to take advantage of the PS3 hardware and BR space (just like Agent), then the answer is no (and given 2T's history, I doubt it). RN did say though that the DVD space is really hindering them.

@DirtyP: True, but you're not taking into account the number of multiplat owners and the PS3's price point now. Profits won't be as high as they possibly could be by limiting the game to one platform for sure, but it can still be quite profitable.

@Scoobes: I was thinking the same thing.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

A GTA5 is highly unlikely but a GTA spin-off could happen. That's my take on this.

Sigh, alright. Gimmie some time. If you don't hear from me in a day or two then shoot me a PM to remind me. The short explanation is that he slightly misspoke. The extra cost referenced was in production of the actual goods themselves. That is making more discs costs more money.

Lucky day! I found it quickly. Relevant quote and then a link:

"Microsoft is not being dickheads," he said. "It was a simple kind of miscommunication. Microsoft does not charge a royalty per disc, but there is a cost of goods that goes along with manufacturing. "

GTA5 full exclusive? No.

San Andreas Stories? Possibly.

Some other GTA-side thingy? Possibly.

GTA5 TIMED exclusive... Maybe.
