Can we all just wait till the games out to see exactly how it plays? kthx. I do not care if it is on rails at this point. This game looks fucking awesome!!!!!!!!!!

If you dont care, you can just ignore this thread.

Nobody is forcing you to come here and reply.

I didn't think i'd have to expand upon what i said before but it seems i should make myself clear for you. Before bawling about this game being on rails, we could perhaps wait for a little more info than "likened to a 'rail sword-slashter' or rail shooter" and a longer gameplay trailer or video that would clear up whether it'll be a traditional on-rails game or a little different.

At this point, no i don't really care whether it's on rails or not, and i am glad i shared this with the people of this thread. Four facts alone sealed the potential and my own personal interest with this game. These being...

- The game is M rated. This could bring about a very interesting atmosphere and open the door for some very snappy dialogue, especially when combined with its medieval-ish setting.

- Motion Plus. A game with the concept of slashing through dozens upon dozens of enemies is using this. Very engrossing gameplay is guarunteed here with a lot of depth, especially with over 300 different weapons.

- 4 Player online co-op. The developers must be pretty confident in this title to include online co-op, a feature rarely seen within Wii games.

- Female protagonists. Pretty self explantory stuff right there.

So forgive me if i'm not screaming and crying because this game is "on-rails", but unlike you, i refuse to let such a minor stripple make me look down upon a great looking game. And yes, i am aware that i was not forced to place a comment in this thread, i just felt the need to express my belief that this game looks awesome. I hope you can understand that some people are still excited over this game despite it being of a genre that you seem to despise so much.

Maybe you should put a notice on the OP saying "those who dont care or like that this game is on-rails please dont comment so us closed minded whiners can bitch in peace".

Im not reading that

I mean... lets look at this logically.

You've got a RE4 type view right?

So lets say this is not on rails.

The thumbstick controls how you move. The wiimote controls the sword 1 for 1.

How do you turn? Previous games have you point the IR corner at the edges of one of the screens... can't use that.

couldn't they use the nunchuck as the left analog and the directional pad on the wiimote as the right analog and do the norm for camera/character control?  Seems like that would be plausible.

You could use the directional pad, but I can't see using it just as you would an analog stick.

For wide turns I could see it.  It would control drastically different then most games though...

and would control like Killer 7.  (Which i had mentioned before.)

ignore a thread where somebody is bashing a game unfairly because they want another whine fest? So if YOUR not interested in Dynamic Zan, dont make a thrdad degrading it for others..you could alwayz just cross it off your list and move on

Who are you? The game hero? Came to save the innocent game from the horrible consumers? Oh please...

Let's analyze 'til we drop:

It looks like playing Zelda in Targeting mode.

Then why did you bother quoting it. It's not even that long... are you really that lazy? What is with people not bothering to read my responses, i write them specifically so that these indivuals can read them, and in the end they do not. -.-

How technical is your game?

Suppose you have a point, I hadn't really thought about it but I should've just gotten out a Wiimote and seen if it felt like it could work well.

On a side note, it looks to me like the slashing is done using the IR pointer, but if that's true what do you think the WM+ is for?  It was my understanding that WM+ just gives more information on the position and orientation of the Wiimote but doesn't change the IR pointer functionality.

edit: just took out the Wii Mote and it seems like using the directional pad on the Wiimote for character movement and using the Wiimote in the right hand as the camera control could work.

Also, unlike other on rail games, there are armies. Making armies in an on rails game would just be stupid. I'd say 1Up just THINKS it's on rails from the camera view.

I dont doubt that! The game has 4 player online co op and a RADAR. What use could a RADAR possibly have in a on rails game?

One more thing. There's nothing in the scans of the game that says the game is on rails or else we'd have heard it from J-GAF right now. The only way that 1up could come to the conclusion that it's on rails is from the vids. The vid shows it's like EDF so it's not on rails.

In the Zangeki vid I noticed there were targets in the back of the character. That's not how on rails works.

So it's not on rails /thread

I don't see how this makes the idea of being on rails impossible.  If character movement around the field is on a set path and you control the camera that could fit your description and I would still call that "on rails"

What if they just ditched strafing, a la Resident Evil 4?

Yeah, something's incredibly odd here. How does one make a game with three unrelated control schemes? If it's IR, why use Motion+? And if it's IR, how do you use the Classic Controller?

Once again Soriku.

How.

How do you see yourself using the Wiimote to turn like that.
