We won't know until Capcom's next financial update, which isn't until next year. Even then, numbers on this title are not guaranteed.
DS:E is the better game, but the lack of a known brand really killed this game. It also helps that RE:DC is actually fairly decent.
XBL: WiiVault Wii: PM me PSN: WiiVault
PC: AMD Athlon II Quadcore 635 (OC to 4.0ghz) , ATI Radeon 5770 1GB (x2)
MacBook Pro C2D 2.8ghz, 9600m GT 512 iMac: C2D 2.0, X2600XT 256

What the length of the two games, and replay value of each?
I think we all heard the DS is better (just go by IGN, or metacritic, etc for what that is worth), but isn't RE:DC longer? (I don't have either and may be remembering wrong).
um let me think.. strong advertisement, and its a cold fact that its resident evil... Dead Space only sold 750k on both HD systems so can you imagine how worse it would be to put it Railshooter? plus probably half of the wii's fanbase haven't heard of it, or there not taking no shit from developers that called us a test
Is this really a question...?
RE had:
1. Name recognition
2. Advertising (and hype)
3. A sequel to one of the most successful games on the Wii (see hype)
Dead Space on the other hand pretty much had the same limited support and strikes against it as all other Wii games. True, it had limited hype, but only those people seemed to go out and buy the game. Also, internet advertising and 'core' fans don't help sell a game, as games like Madworld, Muramasa and even Zack and Wiki can show. You need full support from the company to really help sell the game, which includes full market saturation of ads (including all forms of media such as TV) and making sure the game is stocked in all available stores.
Thing is Capcom is probably the only 3rd party developer that didnt lose trust of the customers. They rarely release shovelware on the Wii, and even if their support wasnt very strong, but when they did they put a good effort unlike most companies. Plus RE is strong on Nintendo consoles ever since the GC
Are we seriously comparing spin-off to one of the biggest third party games on Gamecube with rerelease and new games on Wii to the spin-off of 1 year old IP that was never released on Wii or any other nintendo machine ?
And that's even before we mention multiple big movies and other platforms RE games.
Brand recognition is extremly important on every platform but even more so on the Wii where you have to swim through dozens of average or below average titles.

It's Resident Evil vs Dead Space. No fair fight there.
Resident Evil was already established on the Wii and both RE4 and RE:UC has been successful.
DSE is the first Dead Space game for the Wii. DSE probably failed to attract DS fans because of being an on-rails shooter, and many Wii gamers were probably turned of because of the threats.
I'm not surprised to see RE:DC destroy DS:E...No one should be.
