Why did RE: Darkside Chronicles outsell D. Space: Extraction?

What the length of the two games, and replay value of each?

I think we all heard the DS is better (just go by IGN, or metacritic, etc for what that is worth), but isn't RE:DC longer? (I don't have either and may be remembering wrong).
