I agree with John - your numbers are way off.

The 360 has been out for 2 years - and will be at 15m (approx) by the end of this year. To suggest it will do *another* 15m - without a Halo3 release - next year, is very, very optimistic.

Your Wii figures are completely way off as well. Ninty will have around 23m Wii's out by March '08. Production will then be increasing to around 2m/month - maybe even higher (2.5m/m). The 9 months between April '08-Jan '09 will see *almost* 20m Wii's sold - maybe more.

I would say 360 - 22m, Wii - 45m. 

(PS3 is the interesting one - no idea how that will go to be honest!)

Xbox360 did 10 million in over a year. Currently it's having a boost because of Halo3. After the Halo3 effect will wear off sales will go back to 50.000 units per week in the US or slightly more depending on the sales of the PS3. Xbox360 probably slightly above 20 million on Januari 1 2009. Wii at 35 million seems fair but Wii wil do those numbers without any price cuts. Make it 40million if they can up the production. And I don't see the point of a Wii price cut! It's supply constraint enough already!

360 is at 12.75m now

2.25m In USA for Nov - Dec, and 1m in others taking it to 16m

that makes it 8m+ for the year it will do that much next year at least with another price cut and GTA look so about 26m for 360

Wii if continues this good will get to about 8 - 10m lead so 34 - 36m

PS3 will be at 7m this year and maybe 10m next year so 16 - 17m for a total of 76m consoles sold

@Joemanji, I'm going with your predictions. Unless the 360 has something up their sleeve that's like Halo, but in a different genre, it will probably go down a bit on a week per week basis. I'll say 22 million, and 37 million.

Right now it is to hard to predict anything. Their are so many factors in this race. Say in January 08 Warner Bros decides to go Blu-ray exclusive and the HDM war gets put to rest. What if GTA4 does what it is supposed to do (which it will) and 360 and PS3 sales soar above Wii? What if Home comes out and becomes a phonomenon like youtube or myspace? Or mabye MS will jump the gun on Sony and do a crazy home like thing and market it better. Mabye Nintendo will come out of knowhere with an awsome idea that people never thought of. It is just to difficut to judge right know. So much is going to happen between right now and January 08 that it is unpredictable what will happen.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas sold roughly 15 million worldwide! Halo doesn't even come close. So in terms of sales GTA is bigger than Halo! It will be interesting to see how it will do since it's multi-platform this time. It's interesting because GTA has a big following on the PS2. Will they upgrade or go for the Xbox360 version? I think it will sell 6 million on xbox360 and another 4 million on PS3 or the other way around...

GTA is also on PS3 so other then Gears there is no big hardware mover, and i doubt Gears2 will release in 08 they have not even finished UT3 yet.

I'll leave guessing the Wii numbers to johnlucas. But as for the 360, I think it'll have at least 15.5 million by the end of 2007, so at the very least 25 million by the end of 2008.
