You only miss Enix because they published Ogre Battle in the states!

Well, that, Soul Blazer, and Robotrek. In general, they were just weird people.

"Just like I will NEVER buy a FPS on-rails shooter, no matter what franchise it comes from."

So Sin & Punishment is all okay with you?

Sin & Punishment IS okay with me.  It's a THIRD person rail shooter and there is a semblance of control that you maintain in this regard.  Also, that's how the series was born, rather than being a spin-off of some other game.  Just like I love me some Star Fox.  However, if they made a Star Fox: Puzzle Party game, then NO i would not bite.  It has partially to do with expectation coupled with execution.  Imagine, if they made a GTA on-rails shooter, would it keep selling 10million copies on the HD consoles?  I'd say not.

"But they won't. Did I shatter your hope?"

Your word isn't proof an event won't happen. Did I just shatter your illusion that your word can dictate reality?

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

First time I've ever seen a screen shot of FFXIII that bland looking...

why not? i mean its a multiplat game, its not the end of the world like its exclusive to 1 console... it should get a port since its on 360 and ps3 as well... like i always say, theres always room for 1 more port

No.

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

Edit: I really think that Square believes there is no market for their games (casuals) and this is why you will probably not see any main series game from Square on the Wii.

So have you never heard of Dragon Quest, or....

Well he did say "Square" (the company that had to get bailed out) rather than "Enix" (the company that did said bailing).

Now don't you try to help him Mr. Man

Neither of those companies exist anymore and you know it

When they merged, the two company devisions actually tried to retain their seperate projects and devisions as not to conflict with the work that had previously been going on.  However, since then, a lot of the projects on the Square side have been influencing the release schedules and such of the Enix side.

As a whole however, there's been various interviews and such were Square and Enix workers have said they not only work on different teams but are discouraged from communicating together.  And there's more than rumors going around that members of the development groups who develop games for Enix (such as Tri-ace or Armor Project) were not especially happy about the merger.  Not surprising as they once worked for a company whos structure was one of mutual capital gain and relative balance, but is now tied together with one of the most unbalanced and compulsive gaming developers in Japan.

Six upcoming games you should look into:

Wait...WTH are you talking about? I'm not talking about FF XIII, so how would it be downgraded if a FF XIII port never would exist? I'm talking about a NEW GAME that's NOT FF XIII, Agito, or Versus.

If you mean to say even that's pointless because it would ruin their vision blah blah blah then how do you explain Agito on the PSP?

Plus, didn't I just say I wouldn't buy a FF XIII port earlier in the thread? Did you even bother reading it?

Agito, BBS, and probably any other square game was made for the psp because it is a handheld game.  Handhelds are doing better in Japan and that is why PSP gets the love over there (and to a larger extent the DS).  They "just" released a game for the wii and it is doing terrible; so I was merely saying why in the world would they continue making games that are not profitable and also compromise their intended scale?  I will say this, the Wii and Psp do share a lot of games and that might start allowing the Wii to get a couple of games based upon that (Agito, BBS, Etc).

Edit: I really think that Square believes there is no market for their games (casuals) and this is why you will probably not see any main series game from Square on the Wii.

LOL yet Squares best selling game in Japan is on the Wii... imagine that...

In fact MGS is the only non first party game to sell above 500k this generation in Japan on home consoles that isn't the Wii... so really there is just NO market for the typical Japanese game this generation, since Japan... is kinda hurting now from every angle, and Square is mainly a Japanese market company, Final Fantasy is one of their few series that sells better outside of Japan vs inside Japan.

Otherwise there's markets out there all around the world, and your point is kinda moot.
