PS3 is still not at mass market price

$199 will be its peak year

Hard to predict.

But the prize effect in 2010 with do the job all the year, and we can imagine that a new prize cut in september 2010 + Sony Wand + surprise incoming could made 2010 the ps3 peak.

In november the natal project and the announce of the wii HD can disturbed 2011.

So perhaps 2010.

And I bet 15 M will be the peak, far less than the wii peak.

Wow...another $100 off next year...Sony is doing amazing things on the production side to reduce the cost that much...

The Wii's peak was in 2008 -- it's all downhill for the Wii from here ( i'm guessing it'll end up down 15% YoY this year and down another 10% in 2010)

360 appears to of peaked in 2008 as well, however i suspect that Microsoft has something up its sleeve to keep 360 flat YoY in 2010 (and i hope its not just NATAL...)

PS3 appears to of peaked in 2009 -- i doubt SONY will be able to match this years holiday sales, as such it should track similar to the 360 in 2009.

i think the year it hits $199 it will really EXPLODE! you think these sales are good? think again.

2010 will be better. It will have an entire year at $299 rather then just 3 months of it.

If it's not next year, 2011 looks a bit too late in the generation to sell more than 13 million consoles a year.

Maybe if this generation is really long.

I'm calmly waiting till PS3 drops to $200...that's the key price point when most of the people like myself, make the move....
