Forums - Microsoft - last.fm stopping after being idle

So I finally started using last.fm yesterday and I love it a lot more than I thought.  I kept it on yesterday while playing Dragon Age on my laptop since the wife was out and I'll have it on all today since I'm cleaning all today.  I used Pandora before this, but I actually like this service A LOT better and have even found a few artists I never knew about that I really like (Within Temptation = I like).

The only thing that is bothering me is if you go so long without doing anything, the music stops, a popup comes up and tells you you've been idle for a while, and then you have to tell it yes, I'm still here.  When you press yes it buffers again, shows you the ad, and then starts back up.

I really don't have a problem with any of the ads (when you start or inbetween every few songs) and buffering is a second at most, those don't bother me, what bothers me is the service stopping if you've been idle for a while.

Is there a way to turn that off on the 360?

It just seems like a silly feature, I don't know why they expect you to be doing stuff so much while listening...

How long before the prompt kicks in? I haven't seen it yet because I tend to skip a song or two every time I use it.

if you are playing on PC , why not play it on PC too ? its much easier that way.
Within Temptation is good, you should check out Therion + Ayreon + Avantasia

Edit : and for Female vocals ,  Xandria (which i am listening to right now) , Epica , Leave's Eyes , Stream of Passion, Sirenia .... and well there are tons and tons of them.

Nope, it's done to conserve bandwidth instead of wasting it when you're not there. A bit of a pain, but considering it's free, I don't think it's a big deal.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

My laptop speakers are only so good and my surround sound is pretty good (though it only plays in stereo, still better than my laptop speakers).  Also, Dragon Age doesn't have subtitles so that would make it that much harder to hear some of the dialogue.

I'm not sure how long the timer is, I've encountered it twice.

Though now I'm a little annoyed with it because it was giving me a pretty large variety of music and then I said I liked Within Temptation and listened to just it for a while and now it's given me only stuff like them.  Don't get me wrong, I like what it's giving me, but I want to hear the other stuff too.  ;_;

Yeah, it's not a deal breaker since it seems like it's probably 30 or so minutes if I had to guess.  It's a shame there's no way to turn it off but of well.

Since when doesn't Dragon Age have subtitles? I've played the whole game with subs on (so I don't miss on any details)

MY HYPE LIST: 1) Gran Turismo 5; 2) Civilization V; 3) Starcraft II; 4) The Last Guardian; 5) Metal Gear Solid: Rising

Really?  Where are they?  I didn't see them (though now I think of it I only looked under audio and not under general where they probably are).

I fell asleep for a few hours with last.fm on and that never happened to me, the music was still playing when I woke up. Maybe it has something to do with your personal preferences on your 360? Try turning off any settings that would make your 360 go into standby after a certain amount of idle time.
