Alright, look. I didnt read the whole thing.

But this paragraph right there... that´s what REAL people is saying that the wii is lacking

Please, keep in mind that you, reading this forum post on vgchart are NOT "real people". You are a gamer geek. You waste all of your day whining in foruns and scavenging news game blogs and in the end of the month you buy one game. You are 10% of the gaming market, and you think you´re the whole pie. You´re not.

With that set up, you gotta understand this: real people still wait for the motion controlled games they were promised, back at the beginning of the wii.

And look, read this: as soon as Natal start to pull of what nintendo promised (and didnt delivered), things will look very bleak for nintendo.

Now, now, you have it confused.

"Real" people had their promises delivered with Wii Sports alone. Wii Play, too. Wii Fit went above and beyond. Wii Sports Resort? Hell, that shit might as well be magic.

You are creating a false dichotomy between "real people" and the "gamer geek", but only in the sense that the division in your dichotomy is uneven, impractical, and does not reflect reality.

You "real people" paragraph was pretty funny. And i dont doubt it has a lot of truth in there!

However, think about two things:

1) Remember when the wii first hit the market. Every single new game used to bring the same question: "Wow! A new game! Wonder how the motion controls will work on that one!!!!!!!"

And nowdays i guess normal people its used to "Look, a new wii game. MEH!" There´s nothing of the early days excitment.

2) If project natal comes with deadly frightening full power taking this motion control novelty/new market, the wii is really dead.

About the dichotomy Real People vs Gamer geek, ask both of em about motion controls.

The Geek will say "NO WAY! I DONT WANT TO MOVE MY ARMS LIKE AN IDIOT! WAAAAAAAH WHERE´S MY MILK?"

And the real people  will be like "Motion controls? You mean, like, i do this, the game guy follow me? F**k yeah, im on it! Im gonna kick some ganondorf ass with this m*******ther****f***ing sword!

You're not even really defining "real people", so I'm defaulting to "the average consumer"

And if you can't tell, the average consumer's excitement for the Wii hasn't really waned at all

Im not sure. 55 million people already have a Wii. And this same 55 million people are seeing the new games as MEH!

Seeing this games as MEH and not buying them, i might add.

Because there´s nothing new anymore (that is, until Reginleiv and Red Steel 2)

Wii games are not selling. Every publisher says that.

Do you really think that to sell 1m in a 55million market could be seen as good results? Only if your game is a port of Crazy Taxi.

But that happens because this same publishers dont wanna put some decent money in Wii games.

Dont want to work on the wii´s high points. Like motion control (with Motion +) and innovation.

Old gameplay, ports and lame spinoffs wont get publishers anywhere.

Good games with good marketing works on Wii. Unfortunately, like the Conduit, a not-so-good-game had lot of marketing and didn't sell.

As for Dead Space Extraction, NO MARKETING and EA thinks it will sell really well.

That's the true difference between HD consoles and the Wii. Only Nintendo can support the momentum because they can deliever very good games with decent marketing, although the company can't produce 20 good games per year, and it is still the leader of the video game market. Third party... do publicity with a good game and you'll see.

And... Red Steel sold more than 1 million I think? The second might see interesting sales.

maykissthebride you are presuming to speak for an entire group of people for whom you cannot reasonably speak. The why of any statement is even further beyond your authority than the statement itself.

Wii games are selling, is the thing. The Wii moves more third party software than either of its competitors, and mor software in general than is strictly sane.

Frankly, the htings yo uare saying here do not make sens-

Do you really think that to sell 1m in a 55million market could be seen as good results? Only if your game is a port of Crazy Taxi.
YOU CANNOT BE SERIOUS

blah blah blah.
I can't be bothered to read that article. They're all the same anyway, and I'm just sick of hearing all the whining.

If you're not happy with nintendo, then go buy another fuckin console. Easy as that.

I myself am in love with the wii and I'm happy just the way it is.

Gamers and the video game industry used to have a very bad image. Nintendo has done a lot to fix that bad image.  I am sorry that you want gamers to have a stygma attached to them.  I have grown up, and now shun the violent and gore that immature games contain.

Only people to blame due to poor Wii third party titles is third parties, Nintendo has been giving us the good stuff since day one

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

It never ceases to amaze me how elitist gaming snobs are genuinely surprised that the "revolution" didn't support them, but the lower classes.

Hah! Direct hit.

Then why every single third party cry about wii games not selling?

Why you cant see major franchises from third parties coming to Wii? Only spin offs?

Why cant you see a single game from third parties be done with effort, creativity and some money for advertising?

That´s why. Its because they see a big ass 55 million consumers market, drop a game and have to thank God if the game hits 1m.

And they (third parties) still the only ones to blame!

BECAUSE they still triyng with lame ports, horrible spin offs, tacked motion controls, lack of motion controls whatsoever

Make a creative game. Use GOOD 1-on-1 motion controls with Motion Plus. Advertise it properly. Done. You can sell 2, 3, 5m of it
