You know, I've been thinking...there actually is a possibility that Super Mario Galaxy 2 could be released in August. I partially take back what I said about Zelda.

It is confirmed (at least so far) that the new Zelda game will be released at the end of 2010 in Japan, so there's no way that Nintendo would release Galaxy 2 at the same time in that point of view. So if development for Zelda is far enough by E3 2010, I suppose that could end up being the holiday game for 2010 instead. Wikipedia states that Metroid: Other M is expected to come out Summer 2010. If that's the case, then Galaxy 2 could come out in August if Other M comes out in July because Metroid isn't as big of a title as Mario and Zelda. It is a possibility considering that Super Mario Sunshine came out in August 2002 (in the U.S.). But that is a BIG maybe! It's not something you should really count on, though. That's just the best-case scenario. 

Simply put: It depends on how Zelda goes.

With any luck, that's what's going to happen. I think E3 will shed light on most release dates, or at least release windows.

That's only if Nintendo doesn't get money-hungry and decide to push Zelda to Holiday 2011 despite them being done with that game.

I don't see Zelda coming out in 2010 mainly because of industry logic, they probably could have it done and dusted by the end of the year but instead they may want to hit 2011 as tbh Nintendo have their backs covered this year with the Wii's line up, a lot of the competitions big hitters are out this year but they have a good line up to deal with it. They can aim for 2011 with Zelda and have what will no doubt be a GOTY contender in a time where it's possible most of the big titles from other consoles have passed so they can have maximum impact and extra time to polish the game up, Zelda along with DQX in 2011 will bring untold amount of success.

Maybe ya'll could take some bets? Not me eh.

Well...Super Mario Galaxy 2 isn't out yet, so obviously, the rumored release date is wrong just as I suspected.
