| LordTheNightKnight said: "High development costs is a problem on Wii as well, which is why developers aren't putting many high budget games on the console, because there is a greater chance for failure on Wii than the HD twins with high budget titles (in the minds of developers)." How that's logical, since studios have actually gone under thanks to HD failures, and not Wii failures... it's just not logical. I know you're just stating their mindset. I just think it's an asinine mindset. |
Wow, that makes no sense. High development costs on the Wii are a problem? Besides what LordTheNightKnight just said I would like to add that there is no proof of that being actually true. The highest budget I have ever heard of being spent on a Wii game NOT made by Nintendo was Red Steel at $10 million, and that made its money back. For pete's sake, it cost more to advertise the first Left 4 Dead.
Maybe two other games could've possibly matched that budget, and I'm thinking of FFCC: The Crystal Bearers due to Square Enix's normally wasteful business practices and Monster Hunter 3.
Developers/Publishers have used every unfounded excuse in the book not to support the Wii. High budget games cannot fail when they are not even being made.
