Now that I've properly reflected on the game again, I can easily say it was the better version of the two games.
Of course, that statement is a given in the first place, but my memories of the game were a little hazy.

I really am in awe of how good gow1 stood up to time, and I bet gow2 will shock me again.
...and you're right, the game is just so rewarding. It's not just the gruesome violence. Kratos is just such a badass and I really just admire the entire design of the game from the gore, to the enemies, to the lore, everything screams high class....even while stomping on Cerebrus pups.

Never played GOW as i was looking more to the release of X360 at that stage, but really looking forward to GOW3 is looks pretty awesome, i just hope there is enough replayablity or other modes to play as i can't see this game having MP

I recommend playing the first two if at all possible, they are bananas.

God of War II, along with MGS4 are tied as the best games I've EVER played.

I would feel like a sham in there, since I don't own a PS3 and will have to borrow one when God of War III comes out.
