Now that I've properly reflected on the game again, I can easily say it was the better version of the two games.
Of course, that statement is a given in the first place, but my memories of the game were a little hazy.
I really am in awe of how good gow1 stood up to time, and I bet gow2 will shock me again.
...and you're right, the game is just so rewarding. It's not just the gruesome violence. Kratos is just such a badass and I really just admire the entire design of the game from the gore, to the enemies, to the lore, everything screams high class....even while stomping on Cerebrus pups.
