Forums - Gaming - Games on PC and MAC's are NOT PC EXCLUSIVES!

Macs are PC's, they just run a different OS.

So yes they are PC exclusive - just not Windows exclusive.

@Rath

And PS3's are Xbox 360's. MAC'S are built for performance while PC are built for normal stuff such as web browsing, tho some PC are high performance.

There is a DIFFERENCE! Which is why MAC's cost alot more than PC, Ever wonder why game companys make games with MAC's and not PC's?

@ Garnett

uhm Mac's ARE Personal Computers. And yes there are differences. But there are also differences between HP and Dell and Sony and Samsung and all other PC manufacturer's. the 360 is not a PS3. However if you called them an HD Console, much like the term PC is used, then yes it encompasses both 360 and PS3.

@Rvdondapc

www.apple.com does not sell computers, they sell MAC'S.

MAC's are high performance computers used for heavy duty work.

PC are computers used for web browsing and youtube type stuff.

Now before you try and say "Aaha! You just said MAC'S are computers" i must add, PS3 can also do youtube and stuff therefore they must be a PC! No there not, PC and MAC are different, Different OS and different build, the ONLY thing they have in common are the parts, but much like the 360 and PS3 they are DIFFERENT!

I honestly can't tell if he's serious or not :x

Iv seen people throw PC games around as if they were exclusive, but really there not.

Most if not all of PC games are available on MAC'S, Macs are also platforms.

I don't feel like backing up my reasoning on my opinion on Macs, so I won't say it.

Mac has 6 games: Zork, Breakout, Super Breakout, WarCraft III, that puzzle game with the Apple logo, and photoshop.

and you are bringing this up because?

PC = Personal Computer
Macs are Personal Computers. So then Mac = PC
Windows is an OS running just about any x86 architecture which is a PC. Windows is not a PC.
OSX runs on a Mac. Macs = PC. OSX is not a PC.

There are plenty of OSX games, but nothing to the extent that Windows has. Only in regards to console does the difference in PC/Mac gaming come up. For most PC gamers it's Windows, Linux, OSX or Java games.

Mac's are prebuilt pc's. What makes a personal computer is the fact that you can replace all parts of it if you want to. You can't do that with a mac... well you might be able to... I've never opened one up myself.

A machine running linux is a pc though... (well, if it's not a ps3.) Oh yeah and you can't install mac os on a pc right ?..

Actually if you can do that then macs have become pc's.. but i'm not sure if they've made it so you can. Atleast I know you couldn't previously.

A pc running chrome os is also a pc... A mac doesn't become a pc if you install windows on it either.

However, @Garnett. I think that the reason you feel like you get a lot of flak, is because of the negative spin you try to put on things very often.

And no. macs aren't highend pcs. They're lowspec pc's used to brag. No offense to anyone with a mac, but you can get pc's with twice the specs for the same price as a mac.

And they don't support essential programs like 3ds max.

Anyways. So blizzard games then ? :p

Check out my game about moles ^

Garnett, even if you don't agree that MACs are PCs, there's one flaw with your argument: No matter what Apple claims, MAC OS still gets very few ports from Windows games, so about 95% of all PC exclusive games are still exclusives after this thread. Well, at least Mac owners get Blizzard games and some gems like Braid or Plants vs. Zombies.

On this page you can find a list of all PC games that were ported to MAC: http://www.apple.com/games/articles/

The PC probably gets more new games in one year than the Mac got PC ports in the past 10 years.

Also; "MAC's are high performance computers used for heavy duty work." That's a cute statement, a relict from the 90s. I bet most people who buy iMacs or Macbooks nowadays use it to browse the internet/write emails and just pretend that they actually work veeery hard with it. Posting this from my iMac while having my morning coffee...

haha joke thread?
