Hephaestos said: the movie "gamer" had the player put his palm forward for walk (as pushing the back of the character).... so I guess you close the palm for stop and show the back side of your hand for backsteps and the side for going right and left with the hand being about 10cm appart for both options. use your other hand for shooting and aiming.
sounds intuitive enough.
then there is also the option to talk ^^ |
Well, talking to my legs or making them gestures to make them walk or stop? Brilliant! Just like we all do in real life, now that's a lot more realistic than using a stick or a pad!!!
Seriously, it looks like in whatever game that involves walking, it won't be more realistic and/or intuitive than Wii. And whenever handling a tool or weapon, it looks like Wii will still have the edge. It's very simple: unless the camera-only system is able to track fingers, having buttons, pads and sticks within reach offers more versatility (obviously the control scheme will have to be simple and intuitive, both in its physical layout and in the particular mapping schemes used in the games, otherwise it will nullify motion control advantages, but it's quite evident that Nintendo manages to do so with the commands included in WiiMote and Nunchuck and in the way it uses them in games).
