I know, but that only goes to prove just how amazing Deus ex is. I mean I'm placing it above effing Portal and Half-Life2 and all the Blizzard and old BioWare games (before they got simplified).

It's a good game. The story and the way it changes is amazing. But stealth gameplay circa 2000? That part just isn't that good and unfortunately stealth is pretty central to the game. I played System Shock 2 for the first time this year, loved it, its aged beautifully. Got 30 hours into Deus Ex after completing SS2 and couldn't bring myself to finish. Hopefully Khuutra enjoys it more than I did.

I always go to Thief 1 or 2 when I feel the itch to play a stealth game. The 2nd one in particular since that's the one I have on hand. Also to be fair you really don't have to do stealth in DE. I got the speed mod and just ran around with the Dragon tooth Sword whacking things to death, even those big bots.

Sometimes people are biased towards 'certain' consoles or computers. I would be interested to see a list for either the different formats like PC, Dreamcast, Snes, Wii, PS3, X360 etc.. or possibly like Sega, Nintendo, then possibly PC. The problem I have, is I can't have Soul Calibur(Dreamcast) without having System Shock 2(PC) for 1999. For me, they are both winners for there respected year. Only fair to recognise both and possibly others, like Nintendo 1999??
