Yeah, to me, gone are the golden days of FF6 and FF7 (FF6 is my favorite).

Once FF8 rolled around, the characters became more effeminate and emo, the whole angsty-theme thing, and the story was just ridiculous. FF10 was the only good FF since, but how long ago did that come out? I get more excited about Star Ocean games (SO2 is in my top 5 games of all time) and new franchises than a new FF game.

So I've been thinking of waiting a few months/bargain bin as well for this game.

P.S. To JRPG developers, turn-based is slow and cumbersome, boring, lacks a sense of logic/reality.

Yep.  It's my most anticipated game of this generation.  Finally gets back to the jrpg roots rather than trying to "reinvent" itself like all the other JRPG makers this year that are trying to please Western audiences and instead end up changing what I love about JRPGs.

My hype was high, but every time I imagine She-Cloud to be the main, it goes back to 0. My main worry is the characters at this point, namely two in particular.

I'm still interested in FF13, but I have my issues and concerns.

Erm, that's not really that reassuring, wasn't the FF8 team mostly the same as the FF7 team? FF7 was good but FF8 was an abomination of an RPG and has made me forever skeptical of each and every Square game since.

Erm, that's not really that reassuring, wasn't the FF8 team mostly the same as the FF7 team? FF7 was good but FF8 was an abomination of an RPG and has made me forever skeptical of each and every Square game since.

It may not be reassuring, but is should make you consider buying the game at launch at the least.

FF8 team wasn't completely identical to the FF7 team

S-E has stated the FF13 team is mainly made up of FF10 & FF7 members

They use the same skin! Remember this is Advent Children Cloud not original final fantasy 7 Cloud.
