Again show us a game that looks as good as a full fledge psp game

Was that supposed to be convincing?
Edit: Just watched that Blades of Fury video. Ew, not even close. How do people play a fighting game at that kind of framerate?

this.
Anybody who played a game on IPhone/Ipod touch will know it has absolutely nothing on PSP.
wake me up with there is a game that doesn't involve my fingers blocking half of the screen.
Soriku (Feb 10/08): In 5 years the PS3/360 will be dead.

Ace combat PSP
Call of Duty PSP
MX vs ATV PSP
Need for Speed Undercover PSP:
Yeah.. the PSP is sooooo much better......
-edit- Oh I'm sorry for putting Red Alert and the Sims 3 in there.. I thought the PSP would have a version of those EA franchises.. guess not.. my bad..

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)
I have iPhone and PSP sitting right here. The iphone disply is nicer, sharper, but smaller. The games on iphone can look just as good as PSP. Except maybe for PSP-FF7CC.
The problem for iPhone is no the graphics, it's the controls. You basically have one unresponsive button and tilit. The rest of the controls are on screen and not accurate either. People complain the PSP has only ONE analog stick. Well it has the analog, the dpad, 4 buttons and two shoulder buttons...compared to the iPhones ONE single button.
Apple could add 3-d holograms to the iPhone and the PSP would still be a far superior gaming machine.
Trying to convince me the Wii is a real adult game machine 'if you play it right' is like trying to convince me Tofu tastes great 'if you just cook it right'
Iphone has Red Alert and DS doesn't? Damn you EA! I bought my DS all those years ago in anticipation of such a game*. A port of the original with single card multi-player would have been enough for me...
* the closest to ever come was "Robocalypse", which looked cool but had only multi-card multiplayer
A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.
Last I head the iPhone launched with a 650mhz Intel chip and dedicated mobile nVidia gpu. If theres any doubt it's only because Apple is many years behind it's it's gaming api development. For heavens sake OSX is running off of straight OpenGL. While I like OGL it's not gaming refined.
This is another case where gamers can't really tell the limitations between software and hardware. iPhone api will always play second fiddle to a dedicated gaming platform. This will make a noticeable impact no matter what the power of th machine is.
Pasted spec
"Original & 3G: Samsung 32-bit RISC ARM 1176JZ(F)-S v1.0[7]
620 MHz underclocked to 412 MHz[8]
PowerVR MBX Lite 3D GPU[9]
3GS: Samsung S5PC100 ARM Cortex-A8[10]
833 MHz underclocked to 600 MHz
PowerVR SGX GPU[11]"
Hmm seems i'm partially wrong on the specs. It launched with a 620(not that far off), but limited to 412. What was the PSP again 450? The 3G is clocked at 600 and both are ARM.
PSP CPU
"MIPS R4000-based; clocked from 1 to 333 MHz"
ooops, I'm wrong again. Seems that the PSP upper limits is 333Mhz. To be fair MIPS is similar to RISC.
As for the graphics chip. I may self amitidly be wrong in regards to the launch GPU. It may only have some basics. However the machine in question is the 3GS which does come with an OpenGL ES 2.0 chip. Which power wise puts the machine over the PSP.
I must say once again though that a bad or underdeveloped API can put some extra over head work on a developer and allow a good api dev team a leg up. Power wise regardless.
Man notice how the Sony fans are vehement against the idea.
Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.
hahahahahahahahahahhahaha oh boy that's a good one. Then why do all iphone games look like shit and PSP has decent graphics? Oh and physical buttons beat touch screen any day.
I think iPhone even has a bigger issue with piracy then PSP due to how easy it is to jailbreak your iPhone.
Sony still has no clue what portable gaming is...and it looks like some game developers out there dont have a clue as well.
DS is killing them both and its least powerful...
lol thats because its basically the to of them put together
