Explain to me how the PS3 is going to cover a 30 million+ lead when it hasn't even hit 30 million yet? If you didn't already realize, the Wii is beating the PS3 in both NA and EU (arguably the PS3's best region) by a lofty margin. In Japan, at the moment, it's only beating it by...~10k? That's not a whole lot. And it's not like the Wii'll always be lower than the PS3 in Japan anyway. The Wii still has a near 5 million lead over the PS3. Even if the PS3 still outsells the Wii in Japan by 10k (which is impossible as numbers will jump up and down in favor of each console) it would still take nearly 10 years to finally beat it. WW the Wii is still crushing the PS3 even with the PS3's biggest moves - the slim, and multiple new games.

There's no way it'll happen. Thinking otherwise is just pure fanboy drivel.

You should say if you are talking about LTD or not, after all... The OP is talking about weekly sales ¬_¬


Umm...either way the PS3 won't be beating the Wii weekly WW except a couple times when certain games come out (and even then things will still be close) :P

Maybe...

if ps3 maintains momentum, keeps bringing out quality games, theres no reason they could go on a ps2 kinda run. whether it would take over wii though i dont know

lol, the same way the Wii won't increase because of Wii Sports Resort (people who want WSR only own a Wii!), Wii Fit Plus (people who want WFP only own a Wii!), NSMB Wii (all Mario fans already own a Wii!)? Right. And then you ignored every other game besides those.

ur losing me now wfp didnt move any wii HW very little there was a price cut wen that game came out and if u look at the sw #s for wf and wfp ull see wfp sruggled to have the same sales as wf as for wsr same thing there was just a small bump in hw the week it came out then next week it went down close to wat it was b4 the game came out

im talking about huge bumps that last months like wen re5 came out in jp for the ps3 or wen ssbb and kart came out for the wii i belive ps3 2010 line up will give the ps3 these huge bumps next year i dont see those wii games u listed doing the same for wii HW

as for nsmb we havent even seen its hw bump so u cant say a thing bout it the hds had a 80k ww bump for mw2 i dont see the wii having a 80k bump this week it doesnt matter i know that mw2 on the ps3 only will have higher sales than nsmb b4 the years up considering the userbase size thats insane

The software attach rate for Wii is 6.31 and PS3 is 6.52. If you are on this site, you should learn to use the resource on this site better.

It is also "not impossible" for PS3 to lose momentum and start getting outsold by 360 weekly again. Anything is possible!

 



MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

I was just reading this thread and ever since leo j's first post in this thread there was a discussion about ps3 having the best line-up for the two years and many other ps3 defenders(some were fanboys) said about reviews given to ps3 games as an more AAA titles well i want to just say that reviews don't count so much maybe like 20% user reviews count the most the other 80% why well reviews are given by one person while user reviews are opinions of gamers who play every day.. They are the ones who try and beat every little thing out of the game and so that point shows that wii has had a better line-up...

For Example commparing the two most anticipated titles this year..

New Super Mario Bros Wii: Average Aggregate Score: 89 User Review: 9.3 (93/100) Average: 91

Modern Warfare (360): Average Aggregate Score: 93.7 User Review: 5.9 (59/100) Average: 76.35

Modern Warfare (PS3): Average Aggregate Score: 93.95 User Review: 5.3 (53/100) Average: 73.47

The Average Aggregate Score was take by averaging out the score from both Aggregators, Game Rankings and Metacritic.

So as you can see NSMBWii was pretty close to where MW2(both platforms) are for aggregate scores but MW2 is nowhere as close to nsmbwii in user reviews or average score user plus aggregate score....

This shows that just because a game gets high reviews from the reviewer its good..it needs to be accpeted by users as well..
