Dam I'm so hooked to this game. I hope it'll sell millions.

Easily GOTY 2009 for me.

marcios thanks for showing that defensive stance and other tips. I beat the Tower of Ishal. I had big trouble with that ogre too, took me over two hours and maybe 20 tries to take him down lol.

No prob. I did a trick with the Ogre. I used Taunt with my character and he kept running after me. I ran in circles and my team would hit him on the mean time. He didnt hit me once.

Now that I am a little further in the game (did Redcilffe though I need the Circle of Mages to finish it and am currently in the Magi Circle Tower) I realize how mages are important.

I spend more time now playing as a mage cause even with all the tactics they dont play as well. Seriously, Morrigan sometimes attacks enemies with her staff

So I control her or Wynne (she is awesome BTW) to beat certain battles.

@Slimebeast - Im not having trouble s much as you. I think you need to tune the tactics of your characters better. That or control the mages.

Question - I have Cone of Cold with Morrigan and Stonefist with Wynne. What do I put on Wynne's Tactics so she uses Stonefist when an enemy is frozen? I dont see a frozen option on enemy > status.

Question - I have to say I am loving the game. My party is a warrior tank (main character), Sten, Morrigan and Wynne. I would like to use Leliana so I can do steal and lockpick, but will I lose a lot if I remove Sten? Cause he does good damage.

@marcio :

- use 'Enemy Status > Paralized' then 'Use Stonefist', it will kill frozen enemies. I had trouble finding the good status too.

- you could lose a bit of damage yeah, but I don't think it's a problem. I don't know Leliana well though, since I play a rogue as main character.

Tune what tactics? You mean to adjust the combat behaviour of every party member under the tactics icon? Im letting them battle on default. I tried some tuning, changing their behaviour when I tried to kill that ogre but it only turned up worse lol.

I am controlling myself because I'm a magician. I didn't realize until recently that part of combat tactics is to run around lol, but now I try to do it when they attack me.

I can't wait to get off work in just 15 minutes so I can go home and play.

What are your thoughts on the game so far?

Really, really good.

Who are you? (Race & Job)

An elf, from the city. I'm also a Grey Warden, that's my profession. xD

I picked the warrior class with Reaver and Berserker as classes.

Who's in your party right now....umm answer this wisely, no spoilers please!!

 Um, DLC character, Morrigan, and Ol' Alistor..., this had less to do with choice and more to do with me skipping/killing off many of the other potential party members. >_>;

IF you have finished it what would you rate the game?

Honestly? 10/10, though I'm not a whiny graphics whore or a whiny brat who thinks characters breathing air is a cliche and ruins the story.

are you acting evil or good?

I acted like myself. That's all.

before I tell you all of my progress

SERIOUSLY I HATED THAT CORRUPTES SPIDER QUEEN WOMAN THING!!!!!!!!!

anyway.....I'm after braska, going through underground tunnels, I am now in the city of the dead & there are soooooo many darkspawns here & the scale of battles is getting "big" with many more enemies now!

Great game & imo the Dwarven mythology & in general I am loving the whole dwarven scenario, it seems so epic, a old empire which has lost much of its gradn cities....so cool

in my next playthrough I'm definetely gonna be a dwarven warrior!

The broodmother was the most exciting battle in the whole game, I had 5 minutes to figure out the pattern and what to attack xD.

Be prepared for more surprises once you reach the Anvil of the Void ;)

I finally got around to beating this game as a Dalish elf mage, along with Morrigan, Wynne, and Zevran.

Am part way through a second go around with Sten instead of Wynne, and my character as an assassin. i am definately finding it harder with no healer.

Up there with Tekken 6 for me as game of the year, however, if it was coming out next year, it would definately have been overshadowed for me by games like Star Ocean, Final Fantasy, WKC etc

Currently own: PC (duh), SNES, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, PS1, PS2, PS3, PSP.

Really? I thought it was the easiest one. Just run away from tentacles then hit her until she puts up tentacles, run away from them then when the tentacles popup away from her kill her again.

@vlad321

I didn't say it was hard, I said it was exciting :) It was easy once you figured out what to do, I ended up destroying the tentacles, all the mobs and the Broodmother herself without losing a single element of my party ;)
