Of course it is not milking, Ratchet aCiT was the best in the series that I have played! And it is selling better than ToD, so it is clear the most consumers are happy with what they are doing. A full Ratchet game every 2 years is not milking

Milking is when you frequently use one brand recognition to sell other genre of games and forms of entertainment. Typically Mario as a character is being milked because Nintendo knows that everybody loves Mario so they adapt it to any purpose (Mario & Sonic, Mario Kart, Mario here and Mario there). Halo wasn't being milked untill MS had the idea to "expand" the Halo world and make it its cash cow, selling it in the form of a RTS, a remote spin-off like Halo ODST, implement it in the XBL, create the animated series, etc. Guitar Hero is typically milked since you have 365 installements to say the least plus Band Hero, DJ Hero and the soon to come March Band Hero or whatever. Final Fantasy is in the very same boat.
But Rachet & Clank is not a milked series, all games are plateformers, all are tied together in a big serialized adventure and the brand is not used to cash in on other products.

Ah who cares, I still like it anyway. For me 'milking' something is when they start bending the title into lots of areas and use the original appeal to try and sell them - more like R&C the RPG, then R&C the racer, etc.
What Insomniac do is release basically the same game with enhancements, new stuff, etc. plus some old stuff with better graphics and new jokes to people who like the idea of playing that type of game all over again.
R&C is more like releasing a new FIFA or something IMO.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Sony doesn't milk Gran Turismo. There has been one GT in the last 4 years.
I would rather wait for 1 year than waiting for freaking 3--5 years for a game. I don't want waiting for that long so I don't understand this kind of complain by gamers.

Call of Duty is not milked...
All the Call of Duty games are of very good quality and are selling extremely well.
That should not be considered milked.
Guitar Hero is milked because the sells are going down with each new game lately. Guitar Hero 5 did horribly compared to the other Guitar Hero games from the main franchise.

Owned.
Ratchet isn't milked. Their games get reviewed mid to high 80's, they sell well, and they're every 2 years, not yearly.
