At this point, I think Dante's Inferno is going to be remembered more for its crazy publicity stunts than the actual game.
Pixel Art can be fun.

Yah actually the viral ads have been really interesting and down the line when I think of Dante's Inferno I'm gonna think of Mass:WePray not the actual game. I wonder if this will back fire for EA or will they actually see bulstered sales due to this media drive?

Considering most people already know how little Dante's Inferno actually has to do with Dante's Inferno, and that's it's just another horror action adventure with little else originality than its title, EA's better hope is that people think the game, albeit unoriginal, is almost as good as its advertising. Just pity that had they used on the game the originality they put on advertising, it could have been a little masterpiece.

If they get enough letters, maybe they'll even release Mass: We Pray
^^
If they port it to Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism and Islam, it could be the first billion seller... But Christian fanboys would be pissed at the exclusive loss!

you may want to go read the press releases from EA...
Parts of interest are the GAAP net revenue below. (in millions US$)
| Q1FY10 | Q2 FY10 | FY10 Totals | |
| Wii | 161 | 142 | 303 |
| PS3 | 121 | 142 | 263 |
| X360 | 73 | 171 | 244 |
So seems to me like they are risking upsetting a fairly large revenue source just to boost a couple pre-order sales for a game that must be pretty bad if they really need to get this desperate with their publicity stunts.

Yah according to EA's report the PS3 generated less reveniew then the Wii did. However I'm sure porting titles from 360 to PS3 is fairly cheap opposed to developing an entirely new product for the Wii. This could be the real problem, when EA creates a product for the HD consoles is it really worth it for them to make a Wii version from scratch?

Although the trailer made me laugh, on a serious note i did think it did make fun of not only nintendo, but catholics and christians!!
Seriously dante's inferno is just a god of war rip off, there is no need to get upset, because us real gamers are not even that bothered about it, as for ea, they are tredding in places they should not be, they need to remember who buy their games.
These stunts make them look bad, and even puts me off from buying their products (on all consoles)
it's the future of handheld

It is really "from scratch" if you make a game and design levels/story, they don't need to be recreated for any console so long as you keep the minimum requirements in mind. Besides, all I said was knocking off the Wii would get rid of one of their bigger revenue streams which isn't really a good idea. As for which makes more profit, who knows. If Wii games take 2-5m to make, and PS360 games take 10-20m to make, the PS360 group would have to make ~4x the revenue of the Wii, which they only really make ~2x. Of course, this is all purely speculation.
