Forums - Sales - IGN: PSPGo Falters in Japan

PSP2 should include all PSP feature, 2 analog stick, graphic between PS2 and PS3, bluetooth, touchscreen (hand and stylus) , big launch game (GOW, FF, GTA, MGS) then it will be successful

PSP Go was doomed from the start I think. Everyone was calling it a flop when it was announced, so these numbers don't really surprise me. I don't think anyone thought this would sell all too well when it's more expensive than a Wii.

While the Go sales on their own are quite low, combined PSP sales are above DS so the platform as a whole is doing just fine.

Plus, it is selling better than 360, which counts for something.

If anyone was expecting the DL only concept to do massive numbers they were delusional. However, it is an expanding market and here to stay. Better to get in early and have a hand in how it develops.

You do realize that DS sales have dropped a little bit since people were waiting for the DSi LL release. (today 11/21)

OT: The psp go is dropping really hard. It might even go below the 360 pretty soon, haha.

PSP is doing amazingly well after the price cut. However PSP Go is just a major bomb. The price was very wrong, and it doesn't seem too practical. It just reminds me of the PS3 launch :S

Did anyone really expect it to do any good?

Why would it in the face of the 3k and the 2k? they are both much better purchases, especially the 2k.

Heck, it'd do bad by itself too.

PSP is above DS at the moment because the DSi LL is launching. After that DS will leave PSP behind yet again.

I do not know what Sony expected from the go. Maybe they are happy with every console that sells because they want to sell as much downloads as possible. However saleswise compared to other consoles the PSPgo is a big failure.

Nen-suer @

Yes, ít´s a model of PSP and it´s sales counts in the total for PSPsales.
This week PSP go sold 6,6k and the other PSP models sold 40k according to Famitsu (for a total of 46,6k) So while PSP as a whole is doing rather well the PSPgo is doing awful for a new model.

@samus aran rules

But its a premium high priced model with download only games, so i it will have much smaller crowd..no?

I mean 160GB PS3 sold alot less than 80Gb model, and the xbox elite sold less than the arcade and pro

and they werent that expensive & can play disc based games....are they considered flops ?

Do limited edition of games that dont sell well considered flops? Even if the standard version sold millions?

nen-suer - it's slightly different, because the PSP:Go had an RnD cost associated with it, the 160 gb PS3 and elite 360 didn't
