Forums - Nintendo - Aonuma: Motion Plus feels "very natural"

Secondly involves how the dungeons integrate into the world.  I'd like to see them more seamless.  Not so much like you're halfway through a dungeon before you realize it kind of seamless, but perhaps with areas where you go outside and can see the rest of Hyrule around you.  Much like the Skull Palace from ALttP, you can leave and re-enter the dungeon at different points.  My other idea for how dungeons would integrate into the world is that when you finish a dungeon, instead of leaving the way you came in, you exit from the Boss room into a completely new area of the overworld, such as a new village perhaps.  Later in the game after obtaining different items, you can warp to that town (or ride puffy's dragon lol) and re-enter the dungeon.  Once inside, you'll find an area that is unlocked with your new item and it becomes the next dungeon.

I posted this a couple weeks ago.  Was Aonuma reading my mind?  Or have I been reading his?

Okay we're done here

Goodnight, everybody

The reasons I found MM boring were not because of sidequests, I didn't like the story and the constant rewinding of the time seemed silly and repetitive to me

You are entitled to your opinion but it seems you are in the minority in disliking the sidequests in Zelda. So if you do have some mysterious power to influence that path of Zelda Wii's development, please don't, for the sake of your Vgchartz buddies.

I don't get it, why complain about ign at all? I mean we still go there for info, people always link their reviews. V_V I guess people can't complain enough.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

The Official Huge Monster Hunter Thread:

The Hunt Begins 4/20/2010 =D

Majora's Mask is the worst selling (main) console Zelda, so I doubt Avinash is alone on his opinion. It's a mistake to assume the Zelda fanbase on the internet is representative of the fans overall.

I've only played it at a friends house, never beat it myself. I was pretty turned off by the time limit thing, and the lack of adult Link. I wasn't a big fan of the masks, either. The game may have been great, but its accessibility was not there at all - it completely turned off most people coming off of Ocarina of Time. I'll have to revisit it eventually, I guess... It's been like, 9 years since I've played.

Not sure, I just played on a cousin's save (helping him out a bit). I honestly can't remember much, it's been too long.

I mean, I'm sure if I went back and played the game now, I'd enjoy it. I just wanted to point out that it turned off most people, as it wasn't anything we expected out of Zelda. I'm not 100% sure about this, but I believe there's no Master Sword, no adult Link (after Ocarina, we needed this), no Gannondorf, and no Zelda. Throw in the odd mechanics (masks, time limit), and you have what is too far a departure for most Zelda fans.

^sidequests are so stupid and so out of place in the game, yeah Link is going to bother rounding up Chickens while Zelda has been captured, makes no sense, get rid of them

Then don't do them.

EDIT: Wow.  You don't like Majora's Mask?  It is my favorite game of all-time.

What?  a guy isn't allowed to find a game boring?

I honestly don't see how MM is any more "boring" than any other 3D Zeldas, tbh. MM is my second favorite Zelda.

I have to 2nd that facepalm. Majora's Mask is the most amazing adventure ever to grace video games.

By the way, the "sidequests" in Majora's Mask were very different from sidequests in other (including Zelda) games. A sidequest is usually just that, a separate quest on the side which has nothing to do with the main adventure or plot.

In Majora's Mask, everything you do to get the optional masks etc is closely related to the big picture of the main quest. I guess in one way you could say the main quest is nothing but dozens of sidequests, but it all really comes together into a beautiful whole.

It was so satisfying the first time I got all 24 masks and got to see the full ending showing all the NPCs lives you had affected through the quests you completed.

The only way Nintendo will not win E3 next year is if they unveil a sword and shield peripheral along with this game.

It is their only shot at "winning" E3 until they unveil their next console

though my prediction says they'll unveil their next console at E3 2011, so they have a shot at putting together a 2-year chain. If they try.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

i hope we get gameplay at E3 and not just video
