DS >>>>>>>>>>>> PSP this year in terms of games library

Fantastic games on the platform, like every year ofcourse

DS really matches PS2 in terms of a quality library!

Umm darth what noticeble DS games have come out this year that are better than:

Little big planet

Gran turismo

Jak and daxter

Patapon 2

Locoroco 2 and midnight carnival

Motorstorm

Final fantasy Dissidia

GTA (also on DS, and DS' best game this year)

*and classics that include RE, MGS, FF VII, and alot more..*

Also, even when PSP has an amazing library people still don't buy games, I mean I myself haven't bought anything for it.

KH: 358/2 Days alone crushes all those.

Hmmm... You haven't played any of those games have you?

The PSP has had a hell of a year! But it is hard to compete with the DS's massive library.
It's a win-win.

Im specifically talking about the DS'S and psp's library this year..........there would be no point in making a thread talking about the DS having a better library overall than the psp because it is so obvious. So obvious infact, that I would be banned even mentiioning something so obvious.

What kind of a silly thread is this? Everyone and their grandma knows the DS' library > PSP's library. XD

Yeah... maybe to someone who doesn't own a PSP and hasn't the slightest clue of it's library...

Yeah... coming from someone who doesn't own a DS and hasn't the slightest clue of its library...

Actually, I do own a DS. And I know alot about it's library. But I have to admit, my grandma knows more than I. She is the Ds' target demographic after all.

Thank you for saying that. By admitting that you are a Sony fanwhore, everyone should know now that your opinion on this topic is anything but unbiased. Just in case anyone actually took you serious in the first place.

But i dont own a PSP :/

That makes you look even worse. You are so biased that you put a system you don't even own over another just because it's made by Sony. Aren't you ashamed of yourself?

Never!

No darth, I can't name many more as I don't buy a lot of DS games. I am first and foremost playing on home consoles.

But the main difference between the DS and PSP is that the DS has more unique games only available and possible on that platform while many of the PSP's big games are basically small versions of PS2 or PS3 hits. This might explain the general lack of interest in PSP titles, they could be seen as dumbed down console games. That's just a theory though.

Nope , you are absolutely right........at least thats the way I see it.

Imho that's not just a theory, but a fact. PSP appeals to the standard 13-35 male demographic that PS3 and Xbox360 also cater to, while DS targets everyone and their grandma. Bigger, more diverse audience = more and more diverse games = tons of unique games only possible on that specific system. I don't wanna play my console games on a handheld, that's what my consoles are for.

The PSP relies far too much on Sony to stock the library, so when they decide to ignore it again, the third party support will dry up again also. Frankly it's a miracle they convinced developers to come back on board as it is. It's a valiant effort on their part, but I just don't see Sony being able to continue this level of support forever.

Personally, I just came to notice that far too much of the library is full of stripped down console games. You've got the multitude of PS2 ports that function oddly without the second analog and the multitude of PS3 franchises that are stripped of features. In between that, you've got the gems like Patapon and Crush. There just are far too many of these console duds, and not enough truly original software to separate the PSP from it's bigger cousins.

Quote for the EFFING WIN!

Thats why I love my DS.....I don't want to play GT, LBP, GTA, Jak n Daxter & so on n so forth on PSP when I get clones of them on my home consoles, & for GTA, LBP & GT on my PS3

On the DS I could enjoy games like Layton, Phoenix Wright & a 3 year library I had missed out on (so it was hard making that list for "this year" as I have been playing games from its last three years, my perspective is from the point of view of a starved handheld gamer who got the Ds in June and has been ravingly playing games on it)

Your "theory" is absolutely CORRECT.....I have heard this many times at school too, "I don't want a PSP when I can play games that are on it on my PS3/360/Wii"

@J Man

oh there will be people who come & say half those are "casual crap" or you know "pokemon aint good anymore" & so on

but I have a few more games I forgot I can throw out at them
