Huh? The best selling console JRPGs this gen will be FF XIII and DQ X not VC...

Not if Nintendo does a budget line... which they probably won't knowing Nintendo. :/

Good Last Remnant was personally my biggest disappointment of this gen.

I don't know, Iwata seems to be bending a bit now to please 3rd parties, what with the sudden push of CC Pro and the bundles in December. If they ask for it enough, there might be a budget line.

....and I see some people are still upset hat TLR isnt on PS3.

Go find me 10 other SRPG games that have had a comparable budget, scope and promotion as Valkyria Chronicles.  I can pretty easily find 10 JRPGs on level with or surpassing Last Remnant in those areas.

What was the games budget? And it was only advertised in Japan where it had an anime based on it (Not sure about NA).

But then again... Blue Dragon had an anime too... Look what happened there.

What are most SRPG budgets?  Use some common sense here...

Blue Dragon sold 200k in Japan on a Microsoft console, and outsold every DQ but DQ8 in the west.  That's hardly disappointing.  It's DS sequel sales however... lol!  BOMBA!

Speaking of which, how well does everyone think Valkyria 2 will sell?

I think it will do reasonably well in Japan. Western sales... PSP... No comment.

Not much.  You can usually tell by, uh... looking at them, they ususally look last gen.  Or do you think Valkyria was a production in line with stuff like Disgaea, Fire Emblem or Summon Night?  

Obviously it cost more than THEM. But we dont know how much it actually did cost.

Fortunately I wasn't asking what it cost, I was asking if you could name 10 SRPGs with similar production values.

And im still waiting for 10 of them that sold more

Maybe... but it goes against their "evergreen" philosophies.  I think they'd sacrifice guaranteed extended budget sales for games like Fire Emblem if it means they get to keep charging $50 for games like Mario Kart.  It's a shame, lots of GC games basically doubled their sales through later budget rereleases.  Valkyria wouldn't be past 300k if not for continued budget sales (at full price it moved about 150k Japan, 75k US).  I'm sure most of Last Remnant's sales came in the bargain bins too.

If FF15 sells similarly to FF XII I can see DQ X beating it out if Nintendo do wonders for it in the West.

Even if it does FF13 will outsell all JRPG's this gen by a HUGE margin

So the best selling console JRPG of this gen on consoles is FF13.....not "and" _ _ _ ....its FF13

sorry if I'm being harsh, but FF13 + Darth = seriousness!

I know, and if you remove Valkyria's Others sales then it still outsold Radiant Dawn as Valkyria has sold more than it in both America and Japan.

EDIT: If the sales are too low to even be tracked in Others, I doubt they'd have any significant effect in this.
