This could be fantastic news.

I'm sure this'll be at E3 next year. However, I don't expect it to launch before 2011.

Ohhh yes....if anyone can guarantee well-implemented change it's Nintendo.
MM is my 2nd fav Zelda....I absolutely loved how they mixed it up....and it was still Zelda.
Absolute Zelda. Drink up.
Why did he say Wii-version? O_o
If they do the same thing they did with TP, I will hate them.
I LOVE ICELAND!

“It is something we used to talk about with Mr Miyamoto, and he and I agree that if we are following the same structure again and again, we might not be able to give long time Zelda fans a fresh surprise. So we have been trying something new in terms of the structure of the Wii version of the new Zelda game this time. I am really hopeful that people will be surprised with the changes we have implemented for this Wii version. I hope that we can show you something at the E3 show next year and it is something we are hopeful will be surprising.” – Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma
Well, this news may be just what the doctor ordered! I feel like many Zelda fans aren’t satisfied how the series never really changes, but Zelda Wii looks like it’ll be mixing things up a bit. I really can’t wait to see what the game looks like now!
This is the article linked to in the OP. I really hate it when it's not actually in the opening post, just a link.

MEGATON!

Actually, I'd really love to see a console Zelda try something new. They had me excited when they said they would use the WiiMote/WM+ in new and exciting ways... and now with a different structure to surprise Zelda fans? Bring it.
I think it's funny there's a link below those news to this ..

Over the past few years, there has been a long running debate amongst Zelda fans. There are some who argue that the series needs to receive major changes, while others believe that Zelda games should pretty much follow the same formula. This is something which was brought up in an in interview in the latest edition of Nintendo Power. Shigeru Miyamoto addressed how different Zelda Wii will be compared to previous titles in the franchise. Miyamoto said, “I don’t think it’s going to be that radically different. So, it looks like some fans will have to wait until the next Zelda title releases before any big changes are made. We’ll be posting more tidbits from the interview over the coming days.
--------
Nintendo is starting to talk a lot of crap :P
"no changes to Zelda, maybe next time" -> "oh, we will change it"
"no new stuff for the next console, just an upgrade like the past ones" -> "oh, no, we need more than just an upgrade"
What I want from Zelda right now isn't something radically new, I want something radically OLD. Going back to a series' roots has worked for Mario. Going back to basics did great for Wii Sports. So go back to the ideas of the original Zelda and expand on them, Nintendo. I want a massive and interesting world that's chock-full of things to do and places to explore, complimented with well-designed dungeons and fun-to-use items. Screw the cutscenes, screw the story, and let me make my own adventure.
Do it Nintendo. You know you want to!

This is what I'd like to see also.

Good to see Nintendo have recently started sounding like Nintendo again!
