Forums - Sales - SMG2 will break MW2's record

The sequel to the most critically acclaimed game this generation, SMG2, will be a sales monster, mark my words right here.

It will beat modern warfare 2's first-day and first-week sales records and will sell 15 - 20 million copies, mark my words.

The hype it's been receiving is unpredecented, and a lot of kids will buy this as well as adults searching for a great adventure.

MW2 only sold so well just because that airport sequence that was leaked on purpose by Activision to spur sales. Its record of sales will not stand long enough, come Super Mario Galaxy 2.

No.

SMG is not accessible, people prefer 2D Mario.

Back when SMG1 came out I remember regular people complaining that it wasn't in 2D. Also, direct sequels from Nintendo usually tend to sell less than the originals. Maybe Galaxy 2 can reverse the trend, but since it's aiming at being more difficult, I doubt it will become much bigger than the first.

HELL NAW!!!

This game will sell around 6-8 million. I don't see it outselling the original. And it will definitely not break MW@'s records.

Would love to be proved wrong though. On the first one at least, the second one is just no.

By time of its release, Wii will have grown to maybe 60 - 80 million, which will help it gain the sales records. Stop crying, fanboys
