I spent more than an hour trying that before I finally got fed up and quit. A day or so later I read a FAQ on it and apparently you're supposed to jump onto the ledge of the building you can't see and shoot the coils. Well fuck, they did a horrible job at showing you that. What a shitty shitty fight.

This is going to come across as offensive when I really, really don't want it to but:

a) you really aren't that smart if you couldn't work out that the coils had some significance in an hour of playing that same boss - I mean, you had to shoot the petrusite coils in an earlier mission (which you must have realised to have got to the ATAC fight), so I'm stunned that you didn't even consider doing the same thing in the hour you spent failing to kill the ATAC.

b) you're not "supposed to jump" onto any ledge that you "can't see" - that's an outright lie; you can shoot the coils from pretty much anywhere in that battle.

I go by only what they show me-- there's a large pillar (or two, I forget) and a rocket launcher right in front of me.  Considering the vehicle, large pillar, rocket launcher, and damage indicator take up most of my screen I couldn't see the coils.  I was too busy using what little visible space I had to just avoid dying.

I also know *many* other people had the same exact problem.  The fight was just horribly presented to the player and gave them the complete wrong impression of what to do.  I don't really remember shooting coils earlier to take down a flying vehicle, but I also didn't like the game much so I didn't really care to remember many moments.  It obviously wasn't that big of a moment and didn't do too great of a job teaching me anything if I didn't remember it.  Perhaps I took it down some other way?

As for the ledge, I had to jump there because anywhere else I died any time I poked my head out.  Going to that ledge and going in the cover area was about the only safe spot, so yes, I pretty much had to jump there.  Any time I tried to stay where you start and shoot the coils I died so no, I didn't lie.

No, the first petrusite coil can only be taken down by shooting, but it's not a super-crucial scene so fair enough.

As for this ledge, "lie" wasn't the word I wanted to use exactly, but you're not "supposed" to use it - you just chose to since it was the only way you personally were able to complete the mission.

You hit the final rank online way to fast. I did it in under a week I think and I only player for 2-3 hours at that time, but there isn't something "wrong" with KZ2 I put a good 80 hours in the MP sure the story sucks but I didn't buy it for that.

i really like kz2 but i have to agree with this critique...if you are going to have a ranking system like that it should take a more then a night or two of play to max things out.

I don't think thats true as the final rank is Commander In chief that takes at least 6 months to achieve.

I'm curious as to what ledge you speak of. There are stairs down, 2 I think, that lead to a little bunker like area where you can hide from the flying things attacks. Outside of either end of the bunker hallway are big blue coils that seem to scream shoot me. So I did, and beat it in enough time to get that trophy the first time through...  Look harder next time :d

I've got to second this - while I generally never have any issue knowing what to do in an FPS, this scenario really relied on trial and error.  If you happened, by chance, because the level and design give you zero clues, to stumble on the right approach, it's easy.  If you happen by chance to try the wrong thing, it's annoying and you will die and quickly too.  Given the fact the setup strongly implies you should grab the rocket launcher, dance around the pillar you start behind, and take down the ATAC directly, I suspect many took the wrong approach initially.

I loved the design and movement of the flying ATAC, but the setup was weak and when you actually found the lower covered area the scenario became cheap as suddenly the ATAC was easy to take out vs a challenge.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

no split screen good game but 1 is such a lonely number when ppl r over that's where we go at it on call of duty and resistance lol

If you turn your sound on you can hear you being told what to do. Every spawn.

Who are you talking to? o.O

I had my snazzy surround sound headphones on for the whole game and didn't hear being told to do anything special (even though there's supposed to be some boss fight that makes excellent use of sound-- I'm assuming that was the final fight even though I didn't hear anything that made it special).
