Have done my part helping with SMG sales in Europe/Scandinavia.
Got my copy early because of the mix-up in store. :p
Gonna play it later today.... I CAN'T WAIT... ;)

Nothing's cheaper than something free.

F1 vs FOTA, when too much power is in couple peoples hands.

@sqrl: every game is reviewed for its time and at the time, Mario 64 was a revolution in gaming, Galaxy is more like a revolution in the platformer genre today. We need more platformer games, ther are way too few lately. Hopefully companies learn something from Galaxy.

Oh I agree, but I was more adding that responce to your own towards euclid.  It sounds like he might have been guilty of trying to hold M64 to todays standards a bit and my point was sort of that todays standards are what they are in part due to M64.

To Each Man, Responsibility

Sling Pod galaxy was a bit annoying, since you have to be ULTRA precise with aiming. But player 2 helped me out by moving on screen and saying "aim over here."

And the first Bowser fight...WOW. Not only is the SM64 Bowser Castle theme going, but what a great battle. Bowser's weakness: He likes to superstomp, way too often.

There is no such thing as a console war. This is the first step to game design.

I have it!!!
It was already on sale today when I got out of work in Holland even tough it's supposed to launch tomorrow.

It's amazing!!!!

I love the sound when you move into a tube.

The Bowser fights make the game remind me of SMB3 even more. :) A great nod to the Bowser fight in SMB3 without being a simple rehash, since you have to do plenty of other stuff too. I love how in all the boss battles, they gradually ramp up the difficulty with each hit that you score. It keeps the adrenaline flowing.

I can't say enough about this game's music. I wish it had an option to turn up the music compared to the sound effects, cause I want the music to pour forth from the speakers without going deaf every time I pick up a coin.

The game gets A LOT harder than the beginning.

That is all.

This game is amazing.

I have 25 stars and it's clearly so much better then 64 and Sunshine, and pretty much every Mario game except for Super Mario World IMO.

I've been playing for about 8 hours and I'm on the third uh....grand galaxy I think? I have all four of the five galaxies in it unlocked, but I've only been to two and I've only got one star. (in Beach Bowl)

The music is so good, and it sounds amazing. My favorite songs are the Astral Observetory and the Good Egg Galaxy theme. I just wish they used the Good Egg Galaxy theme in a few more galaxies, rather then just in one

The voice acting (I don't count Marios yells and stuff as voice acting really) thats in the game is pretty meh (not as bad as Sunshine), but there's very little of it so that's good. There was so much voice acting in Sunshine and it was so awful, it pretty much ruined the game. (Never bothered to get past 20 stars  and I doubt I'll want to ever play it again now that I've played Galaxy)

The difficulty level is rather high, actually. I had a lot of trouble getting used to jumping and controlling and the weird angles of the planets but then I got over it. Then about an hour after that the difficulty level suddenly jumps up!

I hate the Slingshot galaxy . It took me so long to beat it and I died like 50 times, but thankfully there's a lot of ways to get 1-UPs in that level (I had 999 star bits by the end!) so I only got one game over.

I also cannot beat the surfing level on the first world (lost 15 lives and got a game over and gave up) and the Rolling Green level on the second world. From what I've noticed, pretty much all of the galaxy's with only one star are MUCH harder then the galaxy's with 3 or more stars.

But yeah, the game is amazing. Only problem is now I'm drowsy (only 5 hours of sleep plus that song in the Astral Observtory is like a lullaby to me ) and I'm not sure whether to play more tonight or get to bed early and play early tomorrow!

Top 3 favorite games: Super Mario Galaxy, The Sims 2 (PC), The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker

Too many lazy people!

25 stars in eight hours?

52 stars in 12 hours?

C'mon people! This is only a seven hour game!

I jest. Have fun taking your time. Have fun enjoying the game.

Super Mario Galaxy is such a letdown. It brings nothing new to platforming. After playing it seems clear that it's all a bunch of "been there, done that" rolled into one slick package, but all shine and little substance leave the player wanting so much more. Miyamoto truly seems to have run out of ideas. Take for instance this one example: Mario is still wearing the same clothes from 1985! Where is the character progression? The plot is nearly non-existent and what threadbare shreds there are seem to be an almost total retread of the tired "save the princess" formula. In a more modern vein, why is there no multi-player support? It's the 21st century Nintendo! For this and many other major flaws I have to give this game a 7.5/10. I blame Wii Fit.

You only prove that it is impossible for everyone to like a game, no matter how good it may be. Perhaps it is not Super Mario Galaxy, that is the let down, but the fact that maybe you've just tired of platforming. If Super Mario Galaxy was the first Mario game, or better yet, the first video game you have ever played, than perhaps your opinion would be different. Miyamoto is not running out of ideas. That is where you have crossed the line of "opinion," and "attempted fact." Mario is not wearing the same clothes from 1985. Take a closer look for yourself:

By the way, Mario began in 1981, not 1985. Never-the-less, he did not wear the same clothes, since 1981, or 1985. He wore different clothes in the original Super Mario Bros. He wore a short-sleeved shirt in Super Mario Sunshine, and he wore a totally different outfit when his soccer games started to come out. Even if his clothes are all similar, he would look far too weird, wearing a totally different outfit. I think everyone would much rather have Mario, looking like Mario, than looking weird, with a new outfit. There is multi-player support. There are not many other flaws. Why can't you appreciate the game for what it is? Game Rankings gave this game 97.5%, and Metacritic gave it 97%. If you looked at all the positives, rather than all the negatives, than you would see why this game could, perhaps, be the greatest video game of all time. It's Mario. There's only 10, original, Mario platformers. The next Mario game will not come out until, maybe, another 5 years, so maybe you should at least, try to have some fun with Galaxy.

I got this game today (Thursday) while it was supposed to be released tomorrow (Friday) here =P. Played for a couple of hours, got 23 stars and i think 3 grand stars. I'm aiming to get all the stars. So far it's pretty easy =P Boss fights and stuff aren't really a challenge, it's more of a challenge to just pass a few levels where you have to avoid falling into the black hole.

just when you thought it wouldnt get a bad review
