with TirSLI being released Nov. 12th this could get rather interesting.

I just hope this doesnt lower the 8400GS that much, =/, grant it I paid $47 for it but still.

You play the games in your sig with that POS?  wow...

needs a driver update for the game.. I get texture errors like hell.. yet I can run BF2, BF2142, HL2:Ep2 and the UT3 demo on max settings. Go figure =/

Wow that thing is thin...it has adequate cooling like that? And $250? I think I've found the card to buy this holiday!

Oh yeah, and I played the Crisis single player demo last night at a LAN party...very awesome graphics, especially with my one friend who has Vista and DX10. Granted, his system was absurdly bleeding edge awesome, but the jump from DX9 to 10 was AWWW!!!!!

What kind of framerates did he get at what settings? I've read reports of bleeding edge systems getting 5 frames per second at high resolutions with the game set to 'high'.

That review says the fan is louder than the dual slot 8800's, and from the reported temps it looks like it runs about as hot as my 7800gtx, so I suppose it cools okay....I do have to have my case open for demanding games with my setup, but my computer room stays around 81 degrees all the time.

I don't mind dual slot, so I hope we get some quality *quiet* dual slot 3rd party coolers. Or, I guess I could just buy a case like this one

Well the friend with DX10 didn't max it all out when using DX10...he kept the AA and AF lower if I recall correctly...I'm not sure though.

And I don't know what the framerate was, but it looked like about 30 fps...with dips at intensive times.  So yeah, not that great, but it looked soooo good.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

updated my DX driver... fixed some graphical errors but I can still see through the mountains which = not good. I guess the minimum requirements = bs as my processor is above max requirements and my video card "should" be in the middle somewhere... what total BS

EA SUCKS!!!!

Epic Games FTW!!!! Atleast when they say minimum requirements it means that they are the real requirements not the 7800GTX or better.

no, the 8400GS is a very lowend video card. far from 'middle' class. I'm suprised youre trying to run games on that.
Dump it and buy a 8800gt you'll see a MAJOR improvement over a 8400.

On another note, how much is enough processor these days? I want to make sure my 2Ghz athlon64 dual core isn't bottlenecking anything if I get this card.

I don't see any online stores that have it yet...

It's getting awesome reviews though - it comes close to beating the GTX! http://anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=3140&p=9

ihira, I play lots of games on my 6600 GT. Not everyone has 300 bucks to drop on a shiny new video card every year.

Sounds like your computer is having some issues with the demo actually.  I have to say I think your guess that its a requirement issue is off.  It sounds like more driver issues more than anything.

The reason I say that is two-fold, one the seeing through mountains and graphical errors is indicative of driver issues. And two, my friend has a 6800 (GTX iirc) and he can run it at medium 800x600.  Its not the best settings in the world but its playable.
