Forums - Gaming - Final Fantasy XIII main theme Petition to Square-Enix

I repeat; The J-pop song has been made for the game and is a part of the game.

Around the Network

Looool, not content with the other thread, you decided to post a petition for it? Tell me, would you had done the same when FFVIII released a worded song instead of the classical tune of the pre-3D FF's? You know nothing about FF, claiming that a J-Pop song is part of FF tradition xD

Also, complaining about a 3 minute song when you get to play a 60+ hours game...yeah. Oh and if you're wondering, I've been a FF fan since the SNES days, and will continue to support FF in each new installment, because FF is made of innovation and change in each new game. You don't like, don't buy it. It's your loss really.

I will be surprised if you get even 1000 signs for a petition as stupid as this one. I think every sane person would find it embarassing to sign something like this.

Also shows how much of a "FF fan" you are. Lewis is insanely popular, this song will help FFXIII to sell, yet you dont care and request some shitty j-pop song nobody in the West knows about instead.

The previous one's did sell great with a J-pop song and if they don't care good for them, and yeah your are right, perhaps they should turn the next one into a First-person shooter to sell better in the west.

It's not PS1-PS2 eras anymore. You may not realize it yet but FFXIII is going to be the least successfull FF game in Japan ever (with the exception of FFI)

They have to make up for these losses with increased western sales (I am not making this up, that's what SE said last month themselves) or otherwise the franchise will be in danger. I dont know about you, but I want FFXV to be a huge high-budget title released on a home console and not on a handheld like DQIX did.

Square enix is going downhill this generation. First they changed the game from an exclusive to a multipaltform, lied about the development of the xbox 360 version, and now this.

Besides, how hard is it translate the japanese lyrics of the actual theme to english?

So the japanese dub, lip synching (see CG movies in trailer) and teenager themes. Ask Americans if they like to watch movies with subtitles or hear something that they don't understand. Ask Europeans if they like to hear games in American Enlgish or Japanese (see Valkyria Chronicles sales there). Square-Enix is chosing the option that will sell more, not because of your tastes. Accept that.

You don't get the point rccsetzer. We aren't talking about if a song is good or bad, but about an important part of the game which shouldn't be replaced with a song which has nothing to with the game.

Eyes on Me, Melodies of Life, Sudeki Da Ne, Why, Otherwold are a part of there respective games, and so will Kimi ga iru kara be. Imagine the song's of The Lion King being replaced for one instance with song's that haven't been made for the movie.

The game haven't release yet,so how you know the song's lyric has nothing to with the game?

Too bad that we can't have both due the X360 version (space limitations).

Songs that aren't created from scratch can work just aswell. Just watch pulp fiction and tell me that movie sucks because the music isn't made specifically for it.

Choosing a song that already exists is a valid artistic choice. It brings in new fans and create an instantly recognisable impression on the audience.

BTW the Japanese one is far worse in my opinion. But I couldn't care less, you must play the game and listen to it in regards to the context of the game to get the whole picture.

As some point it become's a tradition, and it has been so for ten years. Did you for example know that the James Bond series dind't start with  a pre-credits scene? Now it's part of the tradition and part of the movie's//

Teenage girls aren't going to buy FFXIII, because they hear Leona Lewis in the commercial, and they could just use that horrible song for the commercial and leave the game as it is meant to be.

Translating is not the same thing a replacing and/ or removing. xD
