Forums - Sony - Demon Souls how the hell do you guys play this game?

It looks good but the frustration factor you're talking about is what's put me off of importing this game. I think I'd probably break my controller if I had this game.

Anyway, sorry don't mean to brag. I was the easiest class. A temple knight. I could heal and melee. I'd recomend that as a starting class. And if you need help just ask in the official thread. People respond fast and are very helpful there.

Are you patient? If so this game really isn't hard at all. I mean, I almost beat a mob at I think level 15 when the reccomended level was 40... I just used my shield and dodged his shield break attacks... only reason I lost was because he could heal and I couldnt take his remaining helth down fast enough when he did. But I was really stubborn and I didn't know you were suppose to be 40+ (He is in the starting level) I just thought "Man they werent joking when they said this game is really hard" so I kept trying to kill him.

But I think people have given the wrong image of the game. It's not that hard, the problem is that is punishing. As every enemy can potentially kill you, if you make a single mistake it can be all over for you. An death means to do all the stage again and to lose the souls you were carrying (wich is money and experience) , but if you can get to your corpse without dying again, ypu recover the souls.

If you are careful, you shouldn't be dying a lot.

I got a bit overwhelmed at first, but after a while you will understand that if you are over half your equipment burden you will be slow, if you try to play too fast you WILL die.

The best advice I can give is this:

Take it slow, do not try to go through this game quick because you will fail. I have already had multiple people tell me that this game had them overwhelmed and they felt it wasn't for them, but with this simple advice (Slow your pace, keep your shield out at all times) they began to get a better feel for the game and now absolutely love it.

Just follow the simple advice, that is all I can say.

Even if this is a joke, I find it quite disturbing...

I would buy this if it released in Europe.

It's a game where you have to think about everything you do, rather than sprinting into action, spamming attacks, and when you die, respawning from a checkpoint 30 seconds ago.

I killed Vanguard my first time playing. I didn't find the game hard at all till I got to Flamelurker and Maneater... Then I find the game easy again. (Before those bosses I found the game too easy) but my disc drive broke so I cant play.

I didn't find the game difficult until I got to the Tower of Liatra [think that's what it's called]. I started as Theif.

4 ≈ One

That level was real easy for me (the boss isn't though. Old Monk is easier) The only time I got pissed on that level was when you are in the swamp area. Man I was running around for what felt like hours. It was so dark I couldnt see a thing. Then I found the brightness bar.

I used a guide for about half the game, my first time through. You should too.
