You need more RPG skillz .

I usually go to GameFAQs.

Well to be honest....RPG's wasn't my favorite genre to begin with. I would play it for 2 hours and shut the game off. And won't touch that RPG in month's. Its just I prefer RPG's that grabs my attention. Kingdom Hearts was a game where I didn't need a strategy guide. It was normal and I even beaten it on Proud Mode. So I prefer games like that. Final Fantasy X or XII I really prefer a strategy guide. So I'm going to try the game out with it. I don't look to far down the strategy guide to see what happens. But I use it because I know I will get lost or stuck somewhere.

I go to Gamefaqs and 1up.com or sometimes even IGN.com

So your problem is you generally don't LONG RPGs with those crazy puzzles and bosses, right? Personally, I'll take those over any game any day. Btw, do you have a GC? If you do, I HIGHLY recommend you pick it up (unless you already have it). The puzzles are (generally) not TOO hard, and the game is made of pure win. Funny thing is... NO ONE HATES IT! Yep, ToS is a PERFECT game. I have NEVER EVER heard from someone who has PLAYED it they didn't like it. Ever. It's 100% perfect. And what's your favorite genre?

Well I don't have a Gamecube, and besides its just my attention span for RPG's are rather limited. If I have a strategy guide I can get past the game quicker and easier.

My favorite genre is FPS and Sports and some RPG's. Thats why the 360 fits my preference for gaming.

And by the way Soriku you mines as well say you want Square Enix to support the Nintendo Wii. Because all those unannounced games are what you want for the Wii.

So instead of listing all those unannounced games in your sig. Just say I want Square Enix to support the Nintendo Wii.

So you prefer short, easy RPGs? o_O

I'm about to play Final Fantasy XII and I'm really not so good at RPG's like finding little secrets and stuff. Does it ruin the experience or does it help you out?

Play once without any guide/help to savor the game itself and enjoy all the surprises, plot twists, and the like.

Play again to collect all the fun stuff, do all the sidequests...etc.

Generally works out really well.

Yeah. I do the same on the games that I enjoy the most.

No, I said I like using strategy guides with RPG's.

For me, it depends on what kind of game it is. Most games I prefer to play without a guide, unless I get stuck somewhere and really can't figure out what I'm supposed to do. Whip out the guide for 5 seconds, do the thing, and put the guide away again. Then once I've finished the game I can look through the guide to see what I missed.

Some games, though, are really annoying and anal about having you collect things, and there are things that would kinda screw you over if you missed them. If I can tell it's going to be that kind of game, I'll use a guide all the way through the game. Or if it's a game like Gran Turismo, a guide can be helpful to let you know what prizes you get from completing each event, so you know which ones are more worth your time. In these cases I don't feel like using a guide is "cheating" because winning races is completely up to your driving skill.

To me, having the strategy guide is just another thing that shows your love for the game. I don't even use mine but I still have 'em for the GameCube Zelda's and Metroid Prime 2 as well as RE4 (used it for the damn sliding puzzle you have to solve when you play Ashley)

Thanks, I agree on all points 8)

I agree, I think I forgot what part you were talking about on Resident Evil 4 though?

Used one for Shadow of the Colossus, been regretting since.

I don't feel like I really beat the game when I use a guide almost like using cheats. You're choice though... RPG's can be kinda tricky it's true.
They're not my favorite genres either.
