I would wager that there would be fewer NATAL cameras in homes than Wiis by the end of this gen, if that's what you mean.

What generation? A new console every 5 years seems out of the question unlike past generations. I don't know what Mircosoft plans are but I bet they are not thinking about 720 anytime soon since another $300 plus console is a very bad idea.

This generation. The seventh generation of home video game consoles. I suppose we could define the generation end as either the time when the first 8th gen console releases, or Ninty, Sony and MS have all released consoles, or stated that they do not intend to do so for a while.

Generally accepted to be late 2012 to early 2013. Seeing as there will be more Wiis sold than 360s, I don't see how NATAL could possibly outsell the Wii.

That's ignoring the possibility of a new NATAL SKU, as has been rumoured. It would still be no Wii, and that would probably qualify as a next-gen console.

Since the topic, however, is whether NATAL would boost 360 sales, no, it wouldn't.

I surely hope 360 doesn't becomes a Wii. I believe the plan is to create something better. If everyone is satified with Wii and Wii sport /wii fit then the industry will die. Since Wii is still successful with inferior hardware then why create another $300+ console?  Sony seem to hint that PS3 is a two generation console (probably the same with Mircosoft) thus they seem to focus on the second generation ,  improved motion controls with HD graphics.

im glad ps3 held off xbox 360, hope it can do it again next week even with the cod bundle sales.

theres no way a cod game is bigger than a $99 360. especially when its the 4th cod on the 360

Very good week for PS3 and 360, but data show that even a crazy offer in USA can't make 360 win WW and also that by now very good moves can make 360 sell very well, but they cannot damage PS3 anymore.
Wii very good by common standards, average for what it's able to do at its best.

it's not a 99 dollar 360...why do you even visit a sales chart about numbers when you can't even handle such simple math.

what $100 xbox?? where do you guys shop?

Sigh ... so much misinformation, but of course, I just consider the sources of it ...

There was no $100 Xbox. Only the Sony trolls will say this. It was the same deal as the year before at Wal-Mart, where they gave folks who bought a PS3 a $100 gift card. It has been stated time and time again that the Xbox was not $100 - but $213 and you get a $100 gift cards.

If any of them showed up at a Wal-Mart with $113 bucks, they wouldn't have been able to get a 360.

This deal was only in the US so it does not surprise me that PS3 is still beating them worldwide. The strong 360 sales that week in the US can't make up for the large PS3 to 360 gaps in the rest of the world. MS is getting mauled in Europe/Others. They need to do something about the PAL regions. I could be wrong but my guess is that Microsoft is doing a poor job of marketing their console and brand in Europe. I looked at the top selling PS3 exclusives games in the PAL regions and to be honest, they aren't all that different from the type of PS3 games that are popular in the states (Resistance, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, Motorstorm, MGS4, Uncharted, LittleBigPlanet, Killzone 2, etc.) I don't think cultural sensitivies with software is the issue like it is with Japan (PS3 has a higher quantity of Japanese software and the charts are practically almost entirely ruled by Japanese software over there). I think the issue is lack of brand power for the Xbox.

When someone says $99 X360 it doesn't take much brain power to know what they are referring to. a $100 Walmart GC is pretty much the same as cash. So you pay $199 for the X360 then they turn right around and give you a $100 GC which I used before I left the store. So yes, it's a X360 for $99 just like a instant rebate.  It's the same as saying I pay $100 for a 9800Gt graphic card even though I had to wait a few weeks for the $30 rebate.

Not really. You pay $213 - and can't use the gift card until you're next visit. And if you don't use it on Xbox accessories, the machine still cost you $213.

I would call folks out if they did the same with calling a $399 PS3 a $299 PS3. It's inaccurate.

Again  It's very common for Americans to say they got something for X amount of dollars after the rebate. Like I said I got a 9800Gt for $100 even though that after the $30 rebate. Also I wrote I used my $100 on  the exact same visit about 2 minutes later.
