If it does eventually get ported, then don't expect the same exact game, compromises will be taken, not only on the graphics department but also on the physics, AI, and amount of enemies, it's pretty much the typical stuff, take a look at dead rising to give ya an idea of the difference from the original 360 one to the wii one. The only thing that can remain the same is really the gameplay mechanics. |
Having actually completed RE5 (both solo and co-op) I can safely say AI, number of enemies and physics aren't anything beyond even RE4 really. Models, environments and textures could be redone to RE4's standard, and they could use the baked effects/lights from DSC to achieve similar results.
Dead Rising was a much more intensive game processing wise given it was so open and literally had hundreds of zombies/objects onscreen. Something more scripted and linear like RE5, or even the solo portion of Lost Planet, would be much easier to bring to Wii. The core game in RE5 could be done 100%, it's just the visuals that'd take a hit.
There's also a question of developer ability. It sounds like a RE5 would likely go to cavia given their work on the Chronicles spinoffs, while Dead Rising was outsourced to TOSE (who's somewhat notorious for crappy conversions/ports).
