Yeah, if the Wii keeps putting out 3 VC games a week, it will quickly pass the Xbox 360 library. I just found out that Eternal Champions is coming to VC in Japan very soon. That is my favorite Sega game and I am so excited. Is it on Xbox 360?

Eternal Champion? sweet, though I really hope they eventually put on sega cd games as I'd love to have eternal champion challenge from the darkside with out the loading

No offense to the Wii, but I had had the impression that Spore was going to be too demanding of hardware for the Wii to handle -- what has made this dream possible?

I'd say over 13 million units sold in less than a year probably had something to do with it.

I'll be more than surprised if the version that hits the DS is the same game as we see on the PC, and there's no way the cell phone version will be the "full" game. So are you saying that the Wii version will not be the same game as the PC gets?

Good to see this confirmed. Finally I'll be able to get this game. Was going to get it on the DS but hey now I can get it on the Wii. I don't play PC games sorry.

Anyways only confirmed platforms are Wii, DS, PC, and mobile phones. No other platforms have been confirmed but I'm sure 360 and PS3 will get it as well.

 Yep, that.

Also Final-Fan, how would you know it was too demandind to Wii's hardware... if pretty much NOBODY knows their complete specs? All that we've got is a bunch of guessing, dissing and crap. No real numbers.

They already said the Wii and PC may be different.  It looks like the Wii may get a better version.  I found it on Wiki,

>Platform announcements

Microsoft Windows[28], Nintendo DS[29] and mobile phone[16] versions of the game were initially confirmed.

Wright expressed the desire to release the game on other platforms, such as seventh generation consoles, the PlayStation Portable and the Apple Macintosh.[30] In a IGN interview, Wright stated, "Well, actually we are going to go on all platforms, but we will come out on PC first. We will even come out on cell phones and stuff."[31]

In a Videogamesblogger.com interview, Wright said that the game will take different forms on the different consoles. As for the Wii, Wright also said that it offers a lot of creative opportunities so the Wii may receive a different game.[32]

Look, I love the Wii, and I'm sure we will see people squeeze some amazing technical feats out of that hardware over the years, but it will never, ever be as powerful as the PS3, let alone PCs.  I simply thought, from various things I heard over the months, that Spore was going to demand hardware performance that was simply beyond the modest capabilities of the Wii.

Extrapolating from FreeTalkLive's info, there'll probably be entirely different versions for the PC, DS, and cell phones; the Wii game may be tuned down from the PC, souped up from the DS, or a different beast altogether.

Frankly, having so many different versions of this game sounds overly ambitious even for Will Wright.  I hope it turns out OK.

The Sims were always different for every platform they were on...so I don't think it's overly ambitious.

I think retro Studios proved that most developers aren't using the Wii to its fullest potential, so I wouldn't be surprised if Will Wright isn't on to something here. He even comments that while the PS3 and 360 have incredible graphical computing properties, their general computing isn't necessarily that much higher or more efficient than last generation. So I don't see why he couldn't drop down the polygon count and still retain the basic structure of the game. Sure it won't look as gorgeous as the PC version, but it won't look like a DS game either.

From a control standpoint the Wii makes obvious sense. The coimbination of the IR pointer and the nunchuck will have some interesting implications for this title, especially the create-a-character portions. And I'm sure they'll throw in some waggle for the fighting/navigating portions.

This game could be huge, sales -wise....and may even take many a casual Wii player into the hardcore realm.

On a side note...I really wish this thread could have just been about Spore on Wii...rather than Will Wright's obviously inflammatory remarks regarding next-gen gaming. Every developer has their own idea regarding the console race, just as all of us do. Their word is not gospel, nor is it definitive. Anyone who has heard Will Wright talk in public should know that he is a very quirky individual with some off-beat ideas about gaming and gaming rhetoric. That he takes a few swipes, then, at the PS3 and 360 should come as no surprise. He's all about disruption and disruptive is the last adjective I would use to describe the HD consoles this generation.

Honestly, I'd take Halo 3 over Wii Sports any day.

So... you'd take the most highly anticipated 360 game thus far and likely in the entire lifespan of the console instead of the Wii's packin game.

What a meaningless statement.

Hmm, that would be an interesting poll.  As for me, I would take Wii Sports by a long shot in this matchup, but then again I've never been a fan of Halo since playing the first one before Xbox was even released.  It always amazes me as to how great so many people think it is when it did nothing scores of PC games had done better for years.

But in any case it's purely subjective as to which console has a better library, so stating that it's a "fact" that 360 has better games than another console is laughable.
